The On-the-Job Training is a technique wherein the workers, i.e., operative staff, is given the direct instructions to perform their jobs on the actual work floor. METHODS OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING : 4/16/2021 Vishnu Priya 6

1. This Step involves the movement of the trainee from one job to another 2. The trainee receives job knowledge and gains experience from his supervisor or trainer in each of the different job assignments. 3. This method gives an opportunity to the trainee to understand the problems of employees on other jobs and respect them. 4. Rotation must be logical . 4/16/2021 Vishnu Priya 7 JOB ROTATION (SBI PO)

1. Coaching is a one-to-one training. 2. The trainee is placed under a particular supervisor who functions as a coach in training the individual. 3. The supervisor provides feedback to the trainee on his performance and offers him some suggestions for improvement. 4. It helps in quickly identifying the weak areas and tries to focus on them. 4/18/2021 Vishnu Priya 8 COACHING (Vehicles Mechanic)

1.  Under this a trainer designs step by step training program, where the worker is given the instructions to perform the job as required . 2. Firstly, the overview of the job along with the desired results is explained to the trainee and then the skills required for the job is demonstrated by the trainer . 3. Then a worker is allowed to perform the job as per his acquired skills and then finally the workers are asked to give their feedback and ask for any query arising out of the training program. 4/16/2021 Vishnu Priya 9 JOB INSTRUCTION (Training Lectures)

This training is a blend of classroom and on-the-job training and is conducted under the close supervision . 3. This can be extended up to 3 to 4 years as apprentices need to go through the learning process till they become an expert in their fields. 4/19/2021 Vishnu Priya 11 APPRENTICESHIP (Craftsman)

It is one-to-one training method, where the manager is considered as a mentor to the subordinate and guides him in the situations of difficulty. 4/18/2021 Vishnu Priya 12 MENTORING (Mentoring the person)

The subordinate learns through experience and observation by participating in handling day to day problems. 3. Basic purpose is to prepare subordinate for assuming the full responsibilities and duties. 4/18/2021 Vishnu Priya 13 UNDERSTUDY (Movie Director)

IT IS SIMPLE AND ECONOMICAL It is simple because it does not require special place, personnel or equipment as training is provided on the site or work place with existing equipment . ACTUAL PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE Trainees learn on the actual machines and equipment that are in use in the real environment of the job and hence they get practical knowledge in their field of work . EASY TO CLEAR THE DOUBT Since trainees work under the guidance and supervision of trainers, any doubt regarding the method or technique of doing work can be cleared on the spot. 4/18/2021 Vishnu Priya 14 MERITS

SHORT DURATION As the work and training go together, trainees learn the technique within a short span of a week or a fortnight.
