3. Objectives The main objective of the project is to create an online book store that allows users to search and purchase a book based on title and category. The selected books are displayed in a tabular format and the user can order their books online and payment is done through cash on delivery and online payment. The administrator will have additional functionalities when compared to the common user. 3

4. Introduction Online bookstore is an online web application where a customer can purchase books online through a web browser. The main aim of this project is to create a website where a customer can visit and buy books online and have it delivered to his or her doorsteps. 4

5. Project Overview Online Book store is an online web application where the customer can purchase books online. Through a web browser the customers can search for a book by its title or category, later can add to the shopping cart and finally purchase using cash on delivery payment. The user can login using his account details or new customers can set up an account very quickly. They should give the details of their name, contact number and shipping address. The user can contact the bookstore by posting a query or suggestions. The books are divided into many categories based on History, Islamic, Romantic etc. 5

The positives include easy access for everyone and cheaper books along with saving natural resources. The negatives however are much greater and cannot be ignored.
