ORIENTAL REGION
ORIENTAL REGION BOUNDARIES.
This region includes the Indian subcontinent Ceylon Burma, Philippines. Formosa and
Scathe China, form the north of this region where the Himalayas are present. The Arabian
Sea is present on the west side. There is no physical boundary in the southeast corner.
This region includes 4 sub-regions.

ORIENTAL REGION
CLIMATE.
This region has tropical and temperate regions. In the northeast of Asia, rainforest is present
towards the western desert. The remaining part shows plains and rivers and therefore this
region shows different types of conditions. So there is more vegetation and more fauna is
seen.

Indo-China Sub-Region:
It includes China south of Palaearctic region. It includes Gibbons, Lemurs,
Rhinoceros, Salamanders, Disc tongued frogs are present.

ORIENTAL REGION
Indo-Malayan Sub-Region:
It includes Malayan peninsula and surrounding Islands. This region supports 132
families of fauna Gibbon, Rhinoceros, Badger, Broad bills etc. are very common in
this region.
