Nouns
Nouns are words that name
people, places, and things.
Sara, a teacher from London, visited the park
with her students and brought a book about
the Statue of Liberty.
In the sentence, there are ;
One proper noun (Sara),
One common noun referring to a person (teacher),
Two proper nouns (London and Statue of Liberty),
and three common nouns (park, students, and book).

Nouns
People are nouns that refer to individuals.
People nouns can be singular (one) or
plural (more than one).

Examples: Girl, boy, teacher, doctor.

Places can be singular or plural too.
Place
Examples: Park, school, beach, city.

Things are nouns that represent objects or items.
Just like people and places, things can be
singular or plural.

Examples: Ball, book, chair, toy.

Nouns can be identified by asking
"Who?" or "What?" in a sentence.

Example sentence: The cat is sleeping.
Who is sleeping?
The cat. "Cat" is the noun in this sentence.

Singular nouns refer to one
person, place, or thing.
Plural nouns refer to more than
one person, place, or thing.

Examples: Dog, car, hat.
Examples: Dogs, cars, hats.

Common nouns are general names for people,
places, or things.
They do not start with a capital letter unless they
appear at the beginning of a sentence.
