BUSCOPAN 20MG - ML 6 AMP

Slide Content

BUSCOPAN 20MG/ML 6 AMP.

Uses Relieve abdominal drumming, stomach, intestine, or bladder pain and cramps that may be related to irritable bowel disease, or diverticular disease. Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness, in addition to its use after surgery and anesthesia to help the patient regain consciousness. Treatment of some cases of hypersalivation (increased salivary glands' secretion), as it causes dry mouth. Active Ingredient : HYOSCIN-N-BUTYLBROMID

HYOSCIN-N-BUTYLBROMID Source Hyoscine-N- butylbromide is a chemical derivative of hyoscine, which is chemically an alkaloid and was originally plant-derived, from the Solanaceae (nightshade) family.

HYOSCIN-N-BUTYLBROMID Mechanism of action Its anticholinergic action exerts a smooth-muscle relaxing/spasmolytic effect. Blockade of the muscarinic receptors in the GI tract is the basis for its use in the treatment of abdominal pain secondary to cramping. Hyoscine butylbromide also binds to nicotinic receptors, which induces a ganglion-blocking effect.

Side Effect Feeling sleepy or dizzy. Do not drive, cycle or use tools or machinery if you're feeling this way. A dry mouth. Try chewing sugar-free gum or sucking sugar-free sweets. Constipation. Fast heart rate. Blurred vision. Problems peeing.

Drug interactions Drugs that possess anticholinergic properties , such as antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressants, antipsychotics, such as perphenazine, and other drugs, such as ipratropium, which are contraindicated in conjunction with hyoscine, as they lead to an increase in the anticholinergic effect, thus increasing the risk of developing side effects. Dopamine activists , such as metoclopramide, when used in conjunction with hyoscine, will reduce the effectiveness of these drugs. Beta agonists, such as dobutamine and formotrol , may increase their heartbeat effect. Medications that cause vertigo , such as hypnotic drugs, anxiety medications, muscle relaxants, opioid pain relievers, such as codeine, as well as cannabis and alcohol, will increase vertigo when used with hyosine .
