Fossils A Fossil is any remains , traces or imprints of life that has been preserved at sometime in the geological past. These bodies of these plants and animals were buried in sediments, such as sand and mud, under ancient seas, lakes and rivers. It also includes any preserved traces of life that is typically more than 10,000 years old.
