Teaching Implementation in ESP: A Help in Sustaining Learners Moral Values Rowin I. Labadan
Presently the number of hours in teaching ESP is reduced to two hours per week. (Dep Ed Order no. 43 series 2002) included as one component of the MAKABAYAN subjects). A long the process there are hurdles in teaching the subjects that needs to be address. One is the insufficient time which is not enough to cover the bulk of EsP competencies. with strategies. Why this study?
Furthermore, the number of loads is high compared to other curriculum areas. Not to mention the lack of interest by some teachers handling the subject, utilizing EsP classes to cleaning, and practices of other academic disciplines instead of teaching the subject religiously. There are several studies conducted about the teaching strategies in EsP and the like hence, the researcher would like to look into the teaching implementation of the subject. at San Isidro National High School.
Moreover, through this study the researcher will be able to determine if the professional qualification of the teacher handling the EsP has an effect to the teaching implementation of the stated discipline. It aims also to give insight to the teachers in EsP its role in sustaining the moral values of the learners. The result of this study will be beneficial to them in attaining the goals and objectives stipulated in the EsP learning competencies.
1. What is the profile of the teachers in terms of: 1.1Age, 1.2 Sex, 1.3 Civil Status, 1.4 Course Graduated in College 1.5 Years in teaching the EsP , and 1.6 Related trainings and seminars in EsP ? 2. What are the guidelines that supports the teaching implementation in the EsP subject? 3. Is there a significant relationship with the teacher’s profile (age, major course) to the teaching implementation of the EsP subject? 4. Research Design In this study the researcher will use a mixed - method design that integrates aspects of a quantitative and a qualitative insight. The purpose is to gain a clearer picture and deeper understanding of the problem. In the quantitative measure it will consider the correlational and descriptive to find whether the variables in this study like the teaching load of a teacher, the limited time allotment and the demographic of the teacher respondents correlates with the EsP teaching implementation.
. In the qualitative it will have a case study as to the guidelines in the EsP teaching implementations. To gather the necessary data’s relevant to the study an interview and a questionnaire will be utilized by the researcher.
