La edad media fue una época histórica, la cual marco la historia de la humanidad, dando inicio con la caída del imperio romano de occidente hacia el año 476 D.C. por pueblos barbaros los cuales se distribuyeron el territorio del derrotado Imperio Romano, en 6 panoramas políticos. Se cree que fue una etapa muy dura y depresiva para la humanidad donde predominaba la pobreza, enfermedades, desigualdad social y de género, y la iglesia tenía el poder, pero no todo fue horrible, eso lo veremos más adelante. -INTRODUCCIÓN-

El poder de la religión e iglesia en las decisiones políticas y del control de la población En la edad media, las poblaciones no tenían ni el conocimiento ni el razonamiento como ahora, por lo tanto, su medio más viable era la iglesia que mediante engaños sometia a todos los creyentes para cumplir sus caprichos y controlarlos, y ¿Cómo? Mediante la fe en Dios, por lo tanto, solo había dos lados, “hacerlo por dios” y en “contra de dios” y.. Como la mayoría de la población en los continentes Europeo, Africano, Asiático y Oceánico practicaban la religión del cristianismo y la iglesia muy poderosa, se podría decir que no acaba bien la parte que decía en “contra de dios”. La iglesia era parte de un imperio, donde todos los territorios que practicaban el cristianismo eran uno y la máxima autoridad era el papa, el papa imponía y ordenaba a los reyes y sus reinos. A esto se le llamo la cristiandad. La iglesia tenía una organización mediante los cleros, en estos estaba el secular y regular. El clero Secular se compuso de distribuirse con la población y los laicos (creyentes en dios), es decir, que estaban y se mantenían en la pirámide social de cada pueblo, estos se dividían en párrocos, obispos, arzobispos y el papa, el primero en la organización, era el párroco que se mantenía en las parroquias (Comunidad de fieles católicos de una iglesia), de ahí varias parroquias formaban una diócesis, cuyo jefe era un obispo que organiza y supervisa a pastores y sacerdotes de una iglesia, por ultimo varias diócesis formaban una arquidiócesis al mando de un arzobispo que a diferencia de un obispo, el supervisa una iglesia más grande o metropolitana y el de mayor poder es el Papa y a diferencia de un arzobispo él tiene el honor de estar en una iglesia universal de la tierra o el vaticano.
El Clero Regular se compuso de los fieles miembros que a voluntad propia decidieron aislarse de la población y vivir en monasterios, donde seguían un estricto reglamento y la norma principal era “ora et labora” , una palabra al latín que al español se traduce como ora y trabaja. Por ultimo los cleros se dividían anteriormente en bajo clero y alto clero, que era una manera de separar a los de clase baja con media y alta, algo muy normal durante la edad media. La llamada desigualdad social. El bajo clero se dividia de sacerdotes, párrocos y pastores que provenían de padres y familia campesina, agricultora o comerciante, que no tenía los recursos ni una economía estable. Y el alto clero se componía de familias con “linaje real” es decir que provenían de la nobleza y tenían los recursos suficientes para mantenerse lo que les permitía privilegios y amistades dentro de la iglesia. Como dato extra los de alto clero al tener suficientes recursos y con privilegios entraban al clero secular donde gozaban de esos privilegios con la población y de poder para lograr hacer actos indebidos sin ninguna sanción, y los de bajo clero entraban mayormente al clero regular donde podían trabajar y tener recursos básicos para su subsistencia. Por último, la iglesia fue divida en dos, en el año 1054 pues la población de oriente medio no aceptaba al Papa como máxima autoridad y con privilegios, por lo tanto, Optaron por la iglesia ortodoxa y Europa occidental opto por la Iglesia Católica Romana.
La desigualdad social fue un tema bastante común el cual se dividió en una pirámide social, dividía a los que contaban con privilegios y a los que no, estos eran tratados como minoría. DESIGUALDAD SOCIAL El rey, la nobleza y la iglesia (Alto Clero) eran los que estaban a la punta de la pirámide social de una población ejerciendo haci el poder absoluto ante la población y privilegios. PARTE ALTA Este era el escalón medio donde se concentraba pequeña parte del bajo clero, militares, baja nobleza y en algunas poblaciones los comerciantes que mantenían y contribuían mucho la estabilidad económica de un pueblo… PARTE MEDIA PARTE BAJA En la parte baja se concentraba primero a ciudadanos como campesinos, agricultores, siervos y esclavos, aunque estos últimos dos compartían similitudes, estos eran de bajos privilegios, pagaban impuestos y poco libres con tratos malos a comparación de los demás
