7. What is Paraphilia? Paraphilia is a type of Psychosexual Disorder characterized by recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors generally involving the following: Non-human objects The suffering or humiliation of oneself or one's partner Children Non-consenting persons

8. Causes of Paraphilia Psychoanalysts theorize that an individual with a paraphilia is repeating a sexual habit that arose early in life. Behaviorists suggest that paraphilia begin through a process of conditioning . Nonsexual objects become sexually arousing if they are repeatedly associated with pleasurable sexual activity. Hormonal imbalance .
