USAGE OF A AND AN IN SINGULAR COUNTABLE NOUN

We use some with plural countable nouns in positive sentences. We use any with plural countable nouns in negative sentences and in most questions. PLURAL UNCOUNTABLE NOUN

SINGULAR AND PLURAL NOUN

Noun + noun (a tennis ball / a headache) We can use two nouns together. The first noun is like an adjective and gives information about the second noun: NOUN NOUN Cardboard Coffee Laundry Office box pot basket building
