SUSPENDED CEILING & PARTITION WALL

REASON WHY DRYWALL PARTITIONs ARE WIDELY USED PARTITION WALL

DRYWALLS CAN BE SOUND PROOFED AS WELL. Offices should invest in drywall that is soundproofed for work convenience. Allows people to work in offices without being bothered by noises; or have confidential meetings. Ensures the silence and quietness in the property and it does not cost a fortune.

DRYWALLS ARE FASTER TO BUILD Drywall is much easier to build Building with drywall is actually 5 to 8 times faster than using other construction materials. As a result, businessmen and company owners can save a lot of time and the productivity in their buildings won’t be affected during the renovation process.

DRY WALL FEATURES A SMOOTH SURFACE Drywall is also aesthetically pleasing and it will fit perfectly in any company or building. It features a crack-free, smooth, seamless surface that looks very elegant and attractive. Can be finished with most types of finishes i.e. like paint or wallpaper or laminates, etc. Help the employees and workers enjoy working in a beautiful environment.

DRY WALL IS EASIER TO REPAIR. Drywall is as durable as plaster, but in the case of damages such as chips, cracks and holes Drywall is easier and quicker to repair, not to mention cheaper

DRY WALL HAS A GOOD FIRE Drywall is also fire-resistant because it is made from a tough material (gypsum) which prevents the spreading of fire in the entire building.

DRYWALL IS CONSIDERED LIGHT WEIGHT Drywall are 8 to 10 times lighter than masonry walls It contributes to the ease in handling and fast erection. Reduce the dead load of the structure

DRYWALL PARTITION SYSTEM IS STRONG AND STABLE. It can be supported by stud metal frames with sufficient spacing. Boards can be screwed securely to the metal framing. Can be built at about 15 metre High.

PRACTICAL FUNCTION OF SUSPENDED CEILING SUSPENDED CEILING

1. Sound insulation The acoustic performance of suspended ceiling with enhanced sound absorption is achieved by adding insulation known as “ sound batts”. It helps to deaden sound and keep adjacent rooms quieter. 2. Ease of Modification The required number of panels can be easily removed and reassembled after the repairs have been carried out. To allow access to the area above the grid to do any necessary wiring or plumbing modifications.

3. Fireproofing Offer up to 1 hour protection To cover and protect possible unsightly building services 4. Sustainability ( Energy Efficiency ) Ceiling tiles with high light reflectance reduces the number of required light fixtures required thus reducing energy consumption. Improves the comfort and usability of interior space 5. Conceals Ductwork, Pipes, and Wires Easily conceal imperfections and flaws on the actual ceiling to cover pipes, ductwork, stains and peeled paint

TYPES SUITABLE FOR RESIDENTIAL (OPINION BASED) SUSPENDED CEILING

TIMBER Spreads fire Moisture Absorbent Expensive Termites TIMBER CEILING Lightweight Can be acoustic Eco-friendly Insulator – keeps room warm Light color wood makes room look higher Aesthetic - Provides comfort ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

PLASTER

GYPSUM PLASTER BOARD CEILING Light and Easy to install Versatile Possible to cover seams Elegant finish Low Cost Fire Resistant Susceptible to water damages Suitable for internal only Requires Soundproofing Requires Treatment ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

Fibrous PLASTER BOARD CEILING An improved version of gypsum plasterboard. Reinforced with fibre-glass strands Moisture Resistance For both exterior and interior

VINYL CEILING Various Designs/ Colors Light but Rigid Resistant to moisture Do not deform For both exterior and interior Not dusty - Easy to be Damaged Requires fireproofing Can produce heat Does not help in acoustic function as well as other materials. ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES
