2. WHAT IS? The controls  aimed at distributing and controlling road traffic flows in time and space in order to avoid the onset of incidents or to reduce their impacts.

4. TRAFFIC SIGNS? A measure to convey a specific information to the driver quite in advance, so that he may become careful. Mounted on specific types of poles. Major classification Regulatory signs Warning signs Informatory signs

5. REGULATORY/MANDATORY SIGNS? They indicate to the traffic an obligation to comply with statutory regulations and non compliance of which is considered an offence.

7. WARNING SIGNS? These convey to the drivers the conditions ahead where some caution is required.

11. WHAT IS? Pavement markings are used on paved roadways to provide guidance and information to drivers and pedestrians . They can also be applied in other facilities used by vehicles to mark parking spaces or designate areas for other uses.

12. COLORS? Pavement markings are typically white or yellow.

13. YELLOW AND/OR WHITE? Yellow lines separate traffic in opposite directions. White lines separate traffic lanes moving in the same direction.

14. YELLOW LINES? On a two-way roadway, the yellow center markings can consist of: A. A normal broken yellow line. B. A double yellow line, one of which is a normal broken yellow line and the other is a normal solid yellow line. C. Two normal solid yellow lines (a double yellow line).

15. A. NORMAL BROKEN YELLOW LINES? marks a two-direction passing zone. Traffic traveling in either direction may pass other vehicles with care and when the way ahead is clear.

16. B. DOUBLE (SOLID + BROKEN) YELLOW LINES? traffic traveling adjacent to the broken line may pass other vehicles with care, but traffic traveling adjacent to the solid line is prohibited from passing.

17. C. TWO SOLID YELLOW LINES? T raffic from either direction is prohibited from passing.

18. WHITE LINES? On a one way lane white lines may A. A normal or wide dotted white line B. A broken white line C. A normal or wide solid white line D . A normal or wide double white line

19. A. NORMAL/WIDE DOTTED WHITE LINES? Separate a through lane from deceleration or acceleration lane, or a through lane that becomes a mandatory exit or turn lane.

20. BROKEN WHITE LINES? Separates lanes where you are permitted to change lanes. Cross the lane line markings with care.

21. A NORMAL/WIDE SOLID WHITE LINES? You should stay in your lane. The solid line means that crossing the line marking is discouraged. You should only change lane when it is necessary to avoid an incident . The solid white lane line marking is often used to separate a through lane from an added mandatory turn lane at intersections. Once you have entered your lane, don’t change your mind in the last second. Respect the pavement markings.

22. DOUBLE WHITE LINES? You are prohibited from crossing the line. You must not change lanes for any reason.
