The Peenya Industries association, which was founded in 1978 with a handful of enthusiastic entrepreneurs with the objective of safeguarding the interest of industrial units in Peenya Complex, now has 5600 members. Over the years the Association has transformed itself from a welfare organisation into a facilitator for the promotion and growth of small-scale industries. The Association has attained the status of being recognised by both the Central and State Governments in the formulation of industrial policies.

PEENYA INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION : The Peenya Industries association, which was founded in
1978 with a handful of enthusiastic entrepreneurs with the objective of safeguarding the interest of
industrial units in Peenya Complex, now has 5600 members. Over the years the Association has
transformed itself from a welfare organisation into a facilitator for the promotion and growth of
small-scale industries. The Association has attained the status of being recognised by both the
Central and State Governments in the formulation of industrial policies.
The Association is a registered body under Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960. The Council
of Management of the Association consists of six office bearers and 12 managing council members
who are elected for a term of one year in the AGM. The Association has its own premises at a prime
location in the Peenya Industrial Complex.
The Association organises Growth Programmes, Vendor Development Programmes, ISO
Certification Programmes, Refresher Courses, Training Programmes, Seminars and symposiums and
Workshops, Interactive Meetings on various Technical, Commercial and Management topics of
interest to the members. The Association also renders community services.
Our Association is one of the largest in the country with its presence noted in all the circles of
Industry Associations across the country. Our Association has been in the forefront in tackling the
problems faced by the SSI’s. We enjoy the distinction of being one of the leading pro-active
associations in the State.
The Association has successfully completed 30 years of its service to the members with various
promotional, growth and developmental activities for the benefit of the small-scale industries in this
prestigious industrial complex. Our Association has also been coordinating with other SSI
Associations in Karnataka for the well being of the SSI’s.

2. Our Association is affiliated to all the major National and State Level Associations like CII, ICSI,
GMCI, FKCCI, and KASSIA.
Our Association is represented in the various committees of the Government Departments like
Industries and Commerce, RBI, Central Excise & Customs, Commercial Taxes, etc., and needs to be
represented in all the Consultative Committees of all the other various Government Departments. in
which our Association has no representation for wider interaction in the matters related to Micro and
SSI’s.

NSIC Opens First Finance Facilitation Centre in Karnataka

The national small industries co-operation limited (NSIC) inaugurated its first finance facilitation
centre(FFC) in Karnataka on august 23 at its branch office in peenya.
PIA stated that FFC could potentially help in releasing the aspirations of over 8000 micro and small scale
industries in peenya.
President also stated that micro and SSI units have problem in easy access to timely and adequate credit
from banks and financial institutions. The entrepreneurs are facing a lot of hurdles in getting the
necessary approval and a felicitation centre which can act a bridge between both borrower and lender will
be of great help and assistance the members to make use of this centre.

3. PEENYA LAUNCHES PIA CREDIT CO -OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD

Peenya Industries Association (PIA): PIA much awaited service for the members became a reality with
the inauguration of PIA Credit Co-Operative Society Ltd at PIA by Honourable Minister for Co-
Operation, Sri H.S Mahadeva Prasad.
“For micro and small scale entrepreneurs, financial assistance has to be adequate, timely, hassle free and
at an affordable interest. The PIA Credit Co-Operative Society Ltd will meet all these parameters of
funding to the satisfaction of our members and MSME entrepreneurs who are members of the society”
Many small entrepreneurs in peenya industrials area and surrounding industrial estates have in the past
become victims of bank lending and institutional finance not meeting any one of the parameters
mentioned above.
May not be adequate and fall short of meeting their full working capital requirement, or it may be delayed
with the result that the purpose of taking a loan is defeated. In many cases the cost of finance may eat into
the margin of the business which is already eroded due to stiff competition and cost cutting strategies by
competitors.
