5. Hating evil ways Romans 12:9 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil ; cling to what is good." 2 Timothy 2:22 " Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

6. Psalm 97:10-11 "Let those who love the Lord hate evil , for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart." You can't wholeheartedly love something without resisting what could destroy it!

7. Overcoming the works of the flesh Colossians 3:5-10 “ Put to death , therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”

8. You can’t overcome sin unless you were dead to it. The only way to overcome sin is to consider yourself dead to it! (Romans 6:11) Yes, we can! Because sin had no power over Jesus, as He conquered it through His death and resurrection! Kaya ba nato ma bungkag (overcome) ang mga malaw -ay nga binuhatan sa atuang lawas ? Kaya ba mag kinabuhi nga balaan ?

9. Overcoming the works of the flesh Galatians 5:16-17 "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh . For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want."

Overcoming the works of the flesh Ephesians 4:22-24 "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self , which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

11. Overcoming the works of the flesh involves not only resisting sin but also achieving victory over it. 1 John 5:4-5 "For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." To persevere means to overcome. And it will be made possible only if we live a holy life!

12. Leading you to experience God Hebrews 12:14 “ Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord .”

13. Sa unsa nga pama-agi nga ma experience pa nimo ang Ginoo ? That’s why trials and persecutions serve as opportunities to strengthen our commitment to holiness. Pina- agi sa kalisdanan ug pagsulay inubanan sa paglahutay ug pagsalig masinati nimo ang Ginoo .

14. Leading you to experience God Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God ."

Yearning for God Philippians 3:10 “ I want to know Christ —yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” Yearning – This usually implies a deep, intense longing or craving for something. It often suggests a more emotional or passionate desire.

16. As you yearn for God, you find yourself gradually moving away from sin and embracing holiness more each day. Therefore, perseverance involves yearning to God.

17. Yearning for God Psalm 63:1 "O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you , in a dry and parched land where there is no water." Philippians 3:8 "What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord , for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ."

18. Yearning for God also involves a separation from sin, as sin hinders a close relationship with Him. Holiness includes a commitment to live a life that is pleasing to God, avoiding anything that would draw one away from Him.

19. Conclusion: NaHULI mo na kiliti ni Lord! Kasi nagiging HOLY kana! Hebrews 12:1-2 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

20. Conclusion: You cannot persevere in your spiritual life if you fail to live a holy life. Holiness is not an option. It is a command and invitation from our heavenly Father that we need to take seriously! 1 Peter 1:15-16: "But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy.'"
