Importance Of Indissolubility Of Marriage

Divorce, remarriage and the Catholic Church
The Indissolubility of marriage: Still relevant today?
I was born and raised in a conservative catholic family. If I say today that I am more liberal as far as
the Catholic doctrine is concerned my mother will probably have a heart attack. My parents have
always strongly believed in the Catholic laws and traditions. Indissolubility of marriage was one of the
principles I was raised to respect and obey. The Catholic canon law (Can. 1056) stipulates that, the
essential properties of marriage are unity and indissolubility, which in Christian marriage obtain a
special firmness by reason of the sacrament . This means that, one s a man and a woman get married,
there is no possibility to get divorced and worst of all, and they are banned from taking the
communion at the mass. I was raised to believe in this solely. Growing up, I met incredible people and
I learned so much about life. My strong believe in the indissolubility of marriage started dwindling.
With time, I started questioning myself. Is it right for the Catholic Church to keep the remarried or
divorced couples from taking the communion? Maintaining this law on the indissolubility of marriage,
the Catholic Church does not only force couples to switch to other religions, but it also does not
respect and honor its creed which forgiveness and love.
Real life is far from what the church teaches us. The Catholic Church

The Similarities Between First And Second-Wave Feminism
Other than the obvious time differences between first and second wave feminism, the real contrasts are
found in what it was the women, and men in some cases, were fighting for. First Wave feminists
mainly fought for suffrage, while their Second Wave sisters fought for a wider range of women s
rights. First wave feminism was brought on by the newly educated female population. Women s
experiences under colonization taught them to see themselves as citizens of oppressed nations, and
many entered into Nationalist politics on behalf of their beleaguered people. (123) Women activists
took an approach of social housekeepers; it was their duty as nurtures of the nation to be involved in
education, social work, public health, poverty, and so on. (126) First Wave feminists were concerned
with gaining access to vote in elections and on other important matters, they were concerned with
gaining access to higher education; they were concerned with temperance, since they were not well
protected under the law from, drunk, abusive husbands. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women now were educated, voting, and even aiding their states during war times. In the U.S. many
activists were fighting for similar issues addressed by the predecessors, however they were able to
take things further, since there was a precedent. Instead of just gaining access to higher education,
Second Wavers were pushing for Women s Studies classes and departments, and for prominent
historical women to be included in academia. Women in the U.S. were also beginning the enduring
battle of saving the environment. Second Wave feminists brought internal attention to the problems
caused by violence against women and by poor environmental practices.

Lifelong Health Benefits of Mandatory Genetic Screenings
Since their development and introduction to the field of medicine more than a century ago, genetic
screenings have become incorporated in many fields of healthcare, including reproductive health and
cancer prevention. Genetic screening is a method of identifying genetic disorders through the study of
an individual s DNA. They can be used to determine predisposition for various disorders such as
Alzheimer s, breast cancer, and sickle cell anemia. Genetic screenings inform individuals about their
state of health and can help them make efficient choices in regard to disease treatments and
prevention; however they have not gone without controversy. Many feel that such screenings can
cause stigma and discrimination against individuals who have ... Show more content on

Despite their benefits for individual and public health, genetic screenings can lead to social stigma
against those with genetic disorders. Since the introduction of mass genetic tests, there has been a
legal debate about whether or not to release information about an individual s screening results. On
one side of the debate are those who argue that the data from genetic screenings can be used to benefit
public health through the development and improvement of treatments and public health policy
(Hodge, 2004). However, a prominent opposing side to this debate has focused on the potential for
social and even ethnic quarantine if the results of screenings are made public (Atkin, 2003). Though
there is a consensus that genetic screening is beneficial in preventing and treating diseases and poor
health, many worry that releasing their results can lead to social stigma for individuals of certain
minorities simply because of their greater susceptibility to certain health problems (Natowicz and
Alper, 1991). Ethnic discrimination has indeed proved to be a legitimate issue in regards to genetic
screenings; for example, in the 1990s several states did not allow African American individuals to wed
until they proved that they did not have sickle cell anemia. Opponents of publicly mandated genetic
screenings fear discrimination against some ethnicities due to their

The Importance Of Movies In Movies
Movies have been around since the late 1800 s in various forms and have always been at the center of
water cooler debates because of their ability to push the boundaries of social norms. Because movies
are entertainment, they can fall victim to becoming boring and mundane after a while, this is why the
boundaries of what we see portrayed on screen are always moving. Lyden (2003) states We are
beginning to realize that we cannot understand or interpret our society except in its relation to these
unavoidable additions to it. Some welcome them and some fear them, but they are here to stay (p.1).
For as long as I can remember, I ve been an avid fan of movies. I have enjoyed everything from action
to drama; comedy to suspense, but the one thing that is immutable about my experience is the self
apparent change in the morals and values depicted in film. It is the ability of movies to make us feel a
certain way, as well as influence social conciseness that makes the moralities that drive them
important to examine. How do movies continue to push the boundaries of our expectations, without
exploring the fringes of cultural and social morality? What is the damage to our psyches when the
things depicted on the big screen challenge the established moral norms? Matthew 6:22 24 informs us
Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body
is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And

Roman Catholic Saints Research Paper
Roman Catholic Saints The book of Romans chapter one, verse seven; To all those in Rome who are

Opportunity was launched in July 2003 for an exploration on Mars. Its mission was to search for signs

landed close to a thin out crop of rocks and it was able to find the evidence of existence of deep salty

Discuss How An Innovative Culture Contributed To The...
The Intel Corporation produces microprocessors that are used in computers. It has a market share of
over 75% and has been praised for its highly innovative culture. Do you think that an innovative
culture can be relied on to guarantee the future success of a business? Justify your answer with
reference to Intel and/or other organisations you know. (40 marks)
An organisation s culture refers to the way we do things around here and is determined by the values,
attitudes and beliefs of the people who work within it. As such, culture will undoubtedly influence the
success of a business. In particular, it can be argued that an innovative culture can lead to business
success because it enables companies to share ideas more freely and ... Show more content on

BMW use a similar culture where everyone is expected to help find solutions. They have a network of
committed associates with few hierarchical barriers, allowing every employee to voice their opinion.
This culture has allowed BMW to promote new products and get the product just right through
thousands of brainstorming sessions. These examples show how innovation can lead to success in
technological industries.
Innovative culture can be relied on to guarantee the future success of a business, as the external
environment is constantly changing. This can be linked to Charles Handy s theory of discontinuous
change which means that in the future change is constant, and therefore an innovative culture would
most likely guarantee a business success. Being highly innovative would mean that managers would
have to be flexible and react to the constantly changing external environment, therefore adopting an
innovative culture would mean businesses would have to come up with ideas and strategies for the
future in order for the business to remain competitive and successful. Innovative culture should equip
firms with the ability to cope better with change. For example Intel s strategy of diversification where
they use tactics such as job swapping and controlled employee role changes to increase

Thomas Hill Ideals Of Human Excellence And Preserving...
In Ideals of Human Excellence and Preserving Natural Environments , Thomas Hill explores the idea
that those who would destroy natural environments may lack necessary human virtues. He lays out
this idea through these claims:
1. A person who views non sentient nature as a resource may be clouded by self importance.
The idea here Hill highlights as one of perspective the inability to see oneself as part of nature. This
ties in with his next claim.
2. A person who would harm natural environments may lack humility by avoiding seeing himself as
one among many natural creatures.
Hill would make a distinction here from just perspective to one of attitude, if one sees themselves as
part of nature and yet would still destroy it then they are making the value judgment that humans are
more important than nature.
3. One ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However one may value something, and yet find need to put it aside. I may want to visit my dying
relative, but having concluded that doing so would leave me in debt for the rest of my natural life I
may revise my plan. This doesn t preclude me from staying in contact with them or cherishing what
connection we may have while they remain in this world. I agree with Hill s argument on most levels
and still find that it is intangible. The argument is sound logically, but makes assumptions that cannot
be quantified. Even could they be of what import would it be? Would we corral those lacking virtue to
be reeducated? In essence I believe Hill s ideas to be a preface to Baxter s. One rooted in the
intangible and one the tangible. Practicality vs Ideality it is an old argument and the basis for most,
neither wholly wrong nor right. On the pipeline through the Big Bend area do the people opposed to

Effects Of Overfishing
Introduction
The main causes of overfishing are poor fishery management with a lack of regulation, unrestricted
access to the ocean and illegal fishing. During the last few decades the demand for edible seafood
globally has skyrocketed and the high demand is causing us to overfish to keep up with the demand.
Unfortunately, fisherman are catching more fish than can be naturally reproduced. There are only
limited regulations in place, which means that fishing companies are basically fishing when and where
they want to with out any oversite. Overfishing causes such serious effects such as the ocean life
getting knocked out of balance. Coastal communities rely on the benefits of the fishing for social and
economic health. When we overfish it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Oceaneos Research Foundation stated that in the mid 1990 the Atlantic cod was caught to near
extinction. Newfoundland s fishing industry collapsed due to overfishing and 40,000 jobs were lost
and the ecosystem destroyed. Fifteen years after the loss of the cod industry they are still waiting for a
recovery. ( The Oceaneos Marine Research Foundation , 2017)
Another global effect of overfishing is fish farming or aquaculture. It was first started to help preserve
the ocean and hoped to help people to obtain a reliable fish source. Unfortunately, what many came to
realize is the downside of fish farming. One example is water contamination, where consequently
waste products such as foods eaten, feces and other dead fish, are all dumped into our main water
supply which contributes to water pollution. Moreover, chemicals that are used to treat the fish farms
like antibiotics and algaecides are all released into the ocean; which is a real cause for concern for our
oceans. Fish that come from the fish farms are pumped full of drugs, to prevent sickness in the fish but
this is not healthy for us to eat. There is also a great environmental impact which includes the fact that
to sustain fish farms, portions of

Regeneration by Pat Barker Essay
Regeneration by Pat Barker The war in Regeneration is explored back home . Rather than portraying
the war in terms of fighting on the frontline in the battlefields of France, Barker demonstrates the
effects on the soldiers back home , both physically and mentally. The soldiers are those who have been
injured, shell shocked, or had a breakdown and are being treated with the intention of sending those
who are able, back to France or at least resuming some kind of war duties. The war is explored,
essentially in terms of the psychological effects of those who fought it. The physical traumas and
horrific injuries suffered are widely known. However the mental traumas are probably less known and
not fully understand. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The First World War is sometimes described as the gentleman s war. All those giving orders and
directing combat were high ranking officers who often did not set foot on the battlefield. Soldiers were
encouraged to fight with honour and behave as gentlemen. These often resulted in more psychological
torment. Men back home e.g. Yealland, the unsympathetic, practically abusive doctor clearly had no
understanding at all of the soldiers experiences, tormenting those who did not want to go back, who
had mental breakdown and suffered with extreme guilt complexes because of the enormous pressure
they were under. It was difficult for women, for the men too old to fight and the boys to young but so
much wanting to fight, to understand exactly what the war meant and what it was like because they
hadn t experienced. This is why I find Barker s book so powerful, because she captures the traumas
and the devastating effects of fighting without so much as one chapter being set in France. Though it
may seem detached to some, the book encapsulates the effects of the war but back at home, making
them all the more painful and real, because the most painful part of these effects is coping with them
whilst trying to adjust to life and people back home. Barker explores the confused and

The Effect Of Liquid Tested On The Area Of Inhibition
Discussion:
The inclinations of the results were that the, the more Dettol added to the ratio to water, the more
beneficial to increasing the area of inhibition. This is because the more Dettol is in the formula, the
more antiseptic the formula begins as the Dettol is the active ingredient that kills the germs and a
higher concentration of Dettol increases the area of inhibition.
I reason that the method is valid to an extent aside from a few minor omissions and possible flaw;
having a sterile airflow in the lab would do no qualm and allow the results to be better untouched.
Undertaking more trials in order to surface a broader spectrum of results to obtain a more precise
average would also add more depth to the end results.
The flaw with the design of this experiment subsists that the liquid tested (Dettol Surface Cleaner) is
in fact disinfectant and not a steriliser, meaning that although it kills most germs (therefore being a
disinfectant), it does not kill all germs (therefore not being a steriliser) as it has deficiencies in its
sporicidal properties because it s killing techniques are cell dehydration, membrane disruption, and
protein coagulation, these along with Hydrophilic Viruses (viruses which are mixed with another
liquid, eg; water) also can also be resistant. Although E. Coli is hydrophobic, if any air transmitted
viruses were to settle on the agar, the results would be extremely altered.
Conclusion:
My hypothesis lined up with the results, but as there

but the quotation stuck with me through the entire ride. I began to contemplate on my religious beliefs.
If someone had asked me that day about my religious beliefs, I would have probably quietly said that I

What Is The Potential Competition In The Condom Industry
Competitor analysis
The online shopping industry faces a high level of competition. Industry players compete in price,
product range, market, scale operation and reputation. The industry is also subject to external
competition from online retailers and traditional bricks and mortar retailers. The main analysis points
of the market competition analysis report of the condom industry include:
1)Competition within the condom industry. There may be several reasons for the intensification of
intra industry competition:
1.First, the industry is growing slowly, and the competition for market share is fierce.
2.Second, the products or services provided by competitors are roughly the same, or there are few
obvious differences.
3.The Third is that some enterprises expand production scale for the benefit of scale economy, the
market equilibrium is broken, the products are overabundant, and enterprises start to resort to the price
reduction.
2)The bargaining power of customers in the condom industry An industry customer may be a
consumer or user of an industry product or a commodity buyer. The industry customer can prompt the
seller to lower the price, improve the product quality or provide better service.
3) The bargaining power of the supplier of the condom industry
Whether the supplier can effectively push the buyer to accept higher price, earlier payment time or
more reliable payment method.

Essay Comparing The Grimm Fairy Tales And Cajun Folk Tales
Both the Grimm fairy tales and Cajun folktales frequently utilize heroines in their stories instead of
heroes. Female protagonists vary from symbols of purity to tricksters between these two types of tales.
It can be seen that levels of agency are also varied.
In the Grimm fairy tales, the heroine is always described as being beautiful and pious. Despite her
devotion to God, she must overcome a series of challenges in order to prove her piety. For example: in
The Girl Without Hands by The Brothers Grimm, the protagonist is very religious, but the devil comes
to take her and eventually her father must cut off her hands. She sticks to her religion and prays for
help, but later the devil comes after her again and gets her exiled. Despite both these challenges she
proves her devotion to God and her hands grow back. In many of these tales, the women are similarly
tested by a devilish force but must persevere and prove their virtue ... Show more content on

They are shown to have more agency than is typically given to female protagonists. For example: in
Marie Jolie, she actively chooses not to get married for most of her life and when she does she
chooses to leave him when she finds out that he s the devil. Later in life, she decides not to remarry
again. The female protagonists are also not shown to be religious, in fact, they can be the opposite.
This is shown in The Barefoot woman, where the heroine is actually the devil s wife. These characters
do not prove to do things for the good of others. In Marie Jolie she only looks out for herself and what
she wants, ignoring her mother s request to choose a husband. In The Barefoot Woman, she actively
breaks up a loving couple in order to acquire a pair of shoes for herself. Another strong difference is
that these women are not shown to be quite as naive. In The Barefoot Woman, she deceives her
husband, the devil, and is also able to trick the newlywed couple into breaking

Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games
When speaking of mythology, the generally accepted idea is that one is referencing ancient or old
stories. However, the archives of mythology are continually growing. Through new versions of older
tales and new mythologies being created, modern civilization continues to add to the global
mythology anthology. A popular trend in modern society is the adaption of older tales into modern
terms to better suit the changing audience. From Jane Austin to Ovid, Homer to Shakespeare, the
myths and stories of the past are continually reworked by modern authors and filmmakers. The
worldwide bestselling novels, The Hunger Games, are an excellent example of how ancient myths can
be source material for modern tales tailored to modern tastes and needs. ... Show more content on

In Greek mythology, king Minos of Crete forced the Athenians to send seven boys and girls every nine
years to become victims of the Minotaur (a monster with the body of a man, and the head of a bull)
who lived in the labyrinth of Crete. The reasons for this tribute vary by the version of the myth.
Athens was to make these sacrifices in order to avert further war with Create. The prince of Attica,
Theseus, decides to put an end to the practice and volunteers to be the seventh boy sent to Crete.
Theseus, with the help of king Minos daughter, was able to slay the Minotaur, escape the labyrinth,
and thereby free Athens (Sakoulas). Ms. Collins was also greatly influenced by the Roman Empire,
the Coliseum and the concepts of districts and panem et circenses. The Latin phrase, which translates
to bread and circuses , is the work of Roman satirist Juvenal and references the Roman Empire s
model for pacification of the people by diverting/entertaining them. (Cunningham). There are many
parallels within The Hunger Games to the myth of Theseus such as a lost war against an authoritarian
power or nation (i.e. Crete and the Capitol), tributes being collected and being comprised of equal
numbers of each gender, the hero volunteering to serve as a tribute, the tributes being taken to the new
city which is vastly different from their home and sent into the area/maze to die, a Love interest helps
the hero to survive the arena/maze, and that the Hero continues to have trials or troubles even after
their return (Katniss and Peeta are targeted by the capitol as rebels, Theseus forgot to change his sails,
etc.). These shared generalities allow for a clear example of how ancient myths still carry relevant
themes in the modern

Norma Rae Analysis
Many great movies have the opportunity to change public opinion or perspective on various issues.
From politics and violence, to relationships and identity, cinema can offer poignant commentary on
many social and cultural issues. The 1979 Oscar winning film Norma Rae adds to this tradition with
its messages about women, labor and other aspects of 1970s life. When it was released this movie was
ground breaking. Its strong female protagonist inspired people all over the nation. As time has gone
on, the film continues to stand as a beacon women, as well as for working class families and their
attitudes toward life. Additional commentary on the film comes from Jefferson Cowie s book Stayin
Alive. In this book Cowie focuses on Sally Field s depiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The community depicted in the film consists of textile workers in the south and the film was even shot
in a real textile mill using workers as extras. This realism and accuracy gives an authentic depiction of
working class life in the late 1970s. This realism gives the audience of the time an ability to relate to
the events and ideas of the movie. Some working communities begin to realize that the fight to
unionize was literally a fight for the lives of working people. As workers of the time saw the movie
and saw the power of both individual effort and collaboration, they likely took these values back to
their home town. While some of the events in the movie do not relate to all communities, the emphasis
on thinking in new ways and taking new approaches to fair labor practices had a great impact on
people in the late 1970s. If a small southern town could overcome oppressive business forces and
unionize to seek better treatment, then all working towns should be able to do the same. The film s
influence on common working folks was not as significant as Norma Rae s impact on women, but still
should not be

Visual Arts Project Analysis
I m highly interested in proposing ways to create an artistic program for underprivileged youth. After
coming across young children from low income during my media project in Romania, it has inspired
me to implement a program to engage youth with the arts. Some students are often gifted with the
opportunity to pursue their artistic expression; I want to help children who don t have the same equity
to enjoy visual arts education in their spare time. In addition, from my previous experience with arts in
high school, I want to provide a program that gives the same opportunities of artistic expression and
leadership skills for young students in marginalized communities in the Greater Toronto Area.

Franklin D Roosevelt Leadership Essay
The leadership of Franklin D. Roosevelt was at a period when United States of America was facing its
two greatest crisis of the 20th century. (the two major crisis of the 21st Century The great Depression
and World war two) I would like to add somewhere that although he suffered from polio he always
demonstrated a sign of strength etc etc to the American people. Franklin Roosevelt was born into a
wealthy and prominent family on January 30th 1882. As the only child, he was brought up in a
privileged environment and attended some of the finest academic institutions. Even as a young man it
was clear that he had political ambitions which drove him to the field of politics. Following the advice

The parents reported that their child s pre and post natal development was normal without illness or
injury. However, as an infant/toddler, he had been difficult to soothe when upset and demanded
constant attention which his parents found difficult to manage.
Twelve months before attending the agency the client began to demonstrate increasing levels of
anxiety. This anxiety commenced with significant difficulties being separated from his mother or
father at home, to go to school, stay with family and play with friends. The parents said the client s
behaviours included clinging on to them and chasing after them as they were leaving the house or
school. He would also check their location in the house to confirm that they were still there. On
occasion his behaviour deteriorated into tantrums, although this only happened at home. The parents
also expressed concern that the boy s teacher noticed he was refusing to eat at school. The parents also
reported their child was unable to get to sleep without their presence. He would awaken with
nightmares at least three times a week saying he was frightened something bad was happening to
them. The parents stated that it was becoming increasingly difficult for them to manage their son s
behaviour.

The client s parents reported that there was no known family history of anxiety and depression on
either side of their family.

Pornography Analysis
In the article written by Brian Doucet who is a senior lecturer at Erasmus University and Drew Philp

abandoned house dissociated from its context . The authors are making a claim that rather than

In reality, ruin porn is a recent movement in photography that takes the decline of the built
environment (cities, buildings, infrastructure) as its subject to make it into this aesthetic photo to be
publicized. However, the authors manage to speak the truth that although such shocking photographs

Persuasive Speech On Bodybuilding Success
Some people like to use overhand monkey grip
To hold the bar with the thumb on the same side as the other fingers rather than grasp around the bar.
This is a bad idea for two reasons. When bench pressing, you re forced to tilt your hand back all the
way to avoid having the bar roll out of your palm and decapitate you.
Unfortunately, this means you ll have bone pressing against bone in your hand/upper arm, which can
become quite painful if you make it a habit.
Secondly, there s that tiny detail of having a 200, something pound barbell suddenly coming down to

The Louisiana Purchase Shaping America
The Louisiana Purchase shaping America
Christopher Richeson

American History 4th Period
December 15, 2015
Abstract
The Louisiana Purchase was a major event in the growth of the United States of America. Purchased
from France for 15 million by Thomas Jefferson in 1803, it gave America twice the available land,
adding 827,000 square miles. Some may argue the Louisiana Purchase is unconstitutional, but
Jefferson found a way around that. The Constitution says land may be acquired through treaties such
as the Louisiana Purchase. After the accusation of the Louisiana Territory, Jefferson had an expedition
lead by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. The goal of the expedition was to map the new territory
and find a quicker path to the Pacific Ocean. The entire expedition lasted a little longer than two years
to complete. The Louisiana Purchase was a deal between The United States and France over 827,000
square miles west of the Mississippi River. (Wilson, G. 2003) It allowed for major expansion and
growth for the small republic in 1803. What if France would have denied our efforts to acquire the
land, would The Unites States be the same as it is today? Through my research I believe that without
the acquisition of the Louisiana Territory, The United States would not have been able to grow and
become what it is today.
Considered to be one of, if not the greatest real estate purchase in American history, the

Valley Forge was the military camp in southeastern Pennsylvania, approximately 20 miles northwest

American Revolutionary War. Ultimately this was our housing for the toughest of the tough in the
most important battle for Americans alike. Freedom. And we wanted it bad. So bad enough we ditched

But one. Everlasting question still lingers, would you stay or quit?
During the hot summers of the war the cabins were at minimum five degrees hotter. But we will set
that aside from the fact that these solders were mad. Sad. And frankly out of it. See they haven t been

making Washington s army in order. All of that coming from the back round essay. And Washington

Does Playing Sports Help Your Child Succeed In The Future...
Dear Parents/Guardians of students in Amery School District,
Some think that competitive sports are bad or almost terrible for kids while others think it is an
opportunity for children. It is clear that sports are good for young adults because it can help them be
more successful in school and in the future because there will be pressure. One reason is that children
tend to do better academically when they are in a competitive sport. A paragraph from the article Does
playing sports as a child help you become successful in life? By Matthew Edward Simco a

The majority of jobs involve working with other people. If a child develops good teamwork and
leadership skills early on in life, he/she will be better off later in life when it matters most. This
suggests that by playing sports teenagers can learn to be leaders and working hard in school (2016). In
addition, an experienced sports coach wrote the article How Sports can Help Your Child Succeed in
the Future in this article he found a survey that Minnesota State High School League study took. He
states As kids get a little older . . . the correlation between sport and success becomes more palpable. A
Minnesota State High School League study found that student athletes are more than twice as likely to
graduate than non athletes. They also showed to have a higher average GPA (2.84) than non athletes
(2.68,) and were absent from school fewer days per year. This supports the idea that teens that are
involved in sports have a higher grade point average or have higher grades than non athletic teens, so
those teens that are in sports will have a chance of receiving scholarships. (2014) Likewise, Steve

Manipulation In Rumpelstiltskin Spin
No matter what version of the Rumpelstiltskin tale you are reading the central element of the story is
spinning. Yet, what if there is another way to look at this term spinning ? On a basic level spinning is
the art of taking an object and manipulating it into becoming something else. Not only does
Rumpelstiltskin spin, or manipulate, straw into gold, but nearly all of the characters spin lies for
personal gain. In this story no one acts without promise of reward. I intend to show through an in
depth analysis of the Grimm brothers final version of the tale that what is truly being spun throughout
the story is manipulation, particularly male manipulation of the female. When closely examined the

character to manipulate the girl in order to gain power. I have a daughter who can spin straw into gold
. These are the first words the Miller utters in the story. One will come to find that first words in this
story are quite telling. In fact, there are several things in these lines which merit critical analysis. For
example, we meet the primary characters (minus Rumpelstiltskin of course), but none of them are
actually given names. The characters identities are presented to us in terms of their socioeconomic
statuses. The first character we are introduced to is the Miller. Now, millers were never considered

not only do they identify him according to his meager occupation, but they also explicitly define him
as poor . This statement is then followed with a negation, a but . The Miller is poor, but he has a

Classroom Management For Students With Emotional And...
One of the most important aspects of teachers is managing their classroom effectively with both
management and structure. Creating Classroom Rules for Students with Emotional and Behavioral
Disorders: A Decision Making Guide ( Kostewicz, Ruhl, Kubina, 2008) described classroom
management strategies as well as provided six step by step clear rule decision making questions.
Emotional and Behavioral Disorder (EDB) students have a reputation when entering a classroom
creating a significant challenge for classroom teachers. Throughout the day students with EBD are in
different classroom settings with multiple teachers and staff members, which can cause a variety of
rules and boundaries. These students often will be classified as aggressive, disruptive, and unfocused.
Teachers are often re teaching, re telling, or re focusing EBD students in the classroom to deal with
negative behavior. Effective classroom rules are used to promote student accountability in the
classroom. Since EBD students have deficits in language, social interactions and communicative
skills, these skills need to be first and foremost addressed in a well designed classroom management
guide. By having the guide in place in each of the student s classrooms provides a routine and
structured day which is beneficial. Additionally classroom rules have always felt more negative versus
positive. However, the teacher attempts to set up these rules to maximize the classroom environment
in order to achieve learning.

The History of Art
The uniqueness of Japanese art, especially in terms of Chinese art, depends on the historical era. As
Lee (1962) points out, There are periods in Japanese art where the artist is either copying, or is heavily
influenced by, Chinese art. At such times it can be said that Japanese art is a strong reflection of
Chinese art, (p. 3). At other times, though, small differences between the arts of China and Japan are
magnified to such an extent that they become fully developed and original styles, (Lee, 1962, p. 3).
With regards to modern art, Japan is far more the influencer of Chinese art than vice versa, as Fogel
(2012) points out.
Therefore, it is impossible to make a blanket statement about the relative uniqueness of Japanese art.
Certainly there are periods in which Japanese art is so heavily influenced by Chinese art that it could
even be lumped together in a similar category. Museum curators dealing with large amounts of
inventory from classical Chinese and Japanese art frequently do classify East Asian art together as if
the differences between Chinese and Japanese art are too negligible to be of any serious importance.
For example, the Saint Louis Art Museum (2008) compiles all its art of China and Japan, also
including the arts of Korea. This is because the curated collection is a reflection of a specific historical
epoch: that of the spread of Buddhism throughout East Asia. Buddhist monks traveling between
China, Korea, and Japan carried religious and artistic

Washington Irving s Rip Van Winkle Shapes American Culture
Darkness...lowers upon my mind, and the times are so hard they sicken my soul, says Washington
Irving in a letter to a friend (Letters 446). This statement reveals Irving s intense emotional condition,
and in many ways indicates the intense social atmosphere as well as his personal conflicts, during the
composition of The Sketch Book. Upon the bankruptcy of his family s fortune, of which he depended
on solely for his monetary security, Irving found himself flung into the galling mortifications of
independence (Letters 487). In response to this trauma, he sailed to England to regain his composure

And this incapacitation resulted in great despondency until one night when speaking to Van Wart (the
owner of the house where he stayed). Upon Van Wart s attempts to cheer him, Irving s mind suddenly
let loose and thoughts came with a rush, faster than he could write them (Williams 168). This is an
excerpt describing the night he wrote The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle :
...for being fettered so long by the ice of long mental despondency. Until morning and through the
small hours he wrote. At morning the June sun shone through the shutters, revealing him still bent
over his table. The Van Warts at breakfast looked up to see him enter, radiant, the fresh manuscript in
his hand. He said it had all come back to him; Sleepy Hollow had awakened him from his long dull,
desponding slumber; and then he read the first chapters of Rip Van Winkle (Williams 169).
The composition of these sketches was sporadic in nature and it seems as if the Muses opened up their
floodgates on Irving that night. This aspect of the composition of these stories, as well The Sketch
Book as a whole, adds somewhat of a romantic atmosphere on Irving as a writer. Because so many
want to believe that authors somehow transcend normal human efforts, and their hands and minds are

destroys individuals and devastates families. Recently, a relative of mine lost all his savings and his
home treating his wife who died anyway. Some years ago, a family had to sell their last piece of land
in the treatment of one of its members that brought them to the street. Such stories are too numerous to
cite.
Those who can afford do so. Those who cannot, try to survive a health disaster in the family through
cunning. While I was growing up, I had heard that two senior Nepali officials having

The Death Of A Loved One
Loss is a process that everyone must experience in their life. The death of a loved one is an incredibly
difficult loss to overcome. The death of a loved one could happen anytime in a person s life and never
becomes easy to cope with. Although everyone must confront this reality, not all cope with their grief
in the same manner. One person s grieving process could differ to another s with differing variables,
such as: length of process, details of loss, manifestations, and severity of grief. People s grieving
processes may slightly differ from one another, but as long as an individual is able to work through it,
then they will eventually be able to eventually conquer their grief. The majority of individuals have
the ability to overcome the grief from the loss of a loved one, but there is a minority that have
complications. It is important to understand how individuals were able to work through their grief and
why others were not able to reconcile the loss of their loved one. Losing a loved one is extremely
painful, and pain that one incurs after the loss of a loved one will never disappear, as the individual
must learn to live with the pain. This literature review of grief will encompass the assessment of
bereavement, grief processes, therapies designed toward bereavement, and the differences in diverse
populations. The summarization of this information should lead to a broad understanding of grief after
the loss of a loved. The paper will also overview the

Analysis Of The Film Crossing The Borderlands Of...

Crossing the Borderlands of Sexuality and Gender.
The film that I decided to watch was a documentary by Gabriel Baur named Venus Boyz. This
documentary film serves as a critique of gender and sex and how it is perceived in New York, London,
and Zurich, but ultimately the world. In this documentary the world of Drag Kings is presented to its
viewers. Drag Kings are mostly women performers who dress in male clothing in order to personify
gender stereotypes. Normally performing as exaggerated male characters whose routine may consist
of dancing and singing, these characters in the end, become political activists who break the
boundaries that society has set on every individual s sexuality and gender ... Show more content on

We see it again when Dred decides to walk time square hand in hand with a Queen Bee Luscious, a
drag queen. In the background we hear a passerby say a statement referring to God. Viewing this
documentary we realize that cross dressing, as a man, is not as acceptable as many would think. Not
just crossing dressing in generally but even not embodying how females should look is deemed as
being deviant.
Society has this spectrum that every individual as soon as they are born is classified into groups. There
are only two categories. On one end you have the masculine males and on the other the girly women.
There is no in between. Even though there are many people who fall into these middle categories. This
is reinforced through media as we see both men and women trying to conform into their assigned
categories. What Drag Kings do is try to break this concept as it is poisonous to women and men who
don t fit in and suffer trying to conform to the social roles placed on them. For example, let s look at
hair. In the documentary we see some females who decided to shave their head hair. Angela says that
female sexuality for many men, not all but many, is linked strongly with hair. If you shave it, it means
that you are denying your female sexuality . It is not just simply shaving your head that is the reason
that you are making a statement. It is the way Angela uses it in her shows that demonstrates

World War I Was An Option Of Peace Or War
WWI
Given the option of peace or war there is an obvious choice. Do not be fooled because there is only a
single way to obtain peace and that is to surrender. To appease those who oppose you and to want to
live on your knees than die on your feet. This sort of idea is heard from many who are safe at home,
eating dinner with their families and watching reality tv. Many things can pit countries against each
other and those things can also push them to war. The slaughtering of thousands for the sake of
materialistic desires is a disease that can numb the sense of morality. World War I was inevitable, there
were smaller and weaker countries being taken over and Europe s more powerful countries were
divided between the Central Powers and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Princip was dying and saw the pain and anger of his fellow man and wanted to die for something he
believed in. Not to die a victim of disease but a hero of his people. So he assassinated an archduke in
retaliation of his country being claimed when they were promised freedom. As long as you have those
who will oppress you will have those who are willing to die to free themselves and those around them.
Martin A. Treptow was a young man who went to France in 1917 with the Rainbow Division. He was
killed on the western front while trying to deliver messages between battalions under heavy artillery
fire. On his dead body they found his diary, in it this man wrote an entry under the flyleaf. America
must win this war. Therefore, I will work. I will save. I will sacrifice. I will endure. I will fight
cheerfully and do my utmost as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone. People often
forget why the soldier goes to fight. They forget that millions, forgetting the sides, died because of
things that could have been prevented. Some would argue that they could have reached an agreement
diplomatically by talking and discussing the problems. To talk out these issues, the speakers must be
equal. Those who oppress and those who are oppressed are not equal. No one was speaking for Bosnia
and so a young boy at the age of 19 fought back in the only way to get their attention. He fought back
against them even if knew he

Brief History Of American Airlines Essay
Brief history of American Airlines
On April 15, 1926, Charles Lindbergh flew the first American Airlines flight carrying U.S. mail from
St. Louis, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois. After 8 years of mail routes, the airline began to form into
what it is today. American founder C.R. Smith worked with Donald Douglas to create the DC 3; a
plane that changed the entire airline industry, switching revenue sources from mail to passengers.
American Airlines, Inc. (AA), commonly referred to as American, is a major American airline
headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. American Airlines was developed from a conglomeration of 82
small airlines through acquisitions in 1930 and on June 25,1936 it became the first airline to fly the

Nicomachean Ethics In The Nightmare Before Christmas
Is happiness being the pumpkin king of Halloween? Or is it becoming Santa Claus to take on
Christmas. Tim Burton s The Nightmare Before Christmas is a great example of a movie that can be
adapted to Aristotelian Ethics. Throughout Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle aims to answer what
happiness is by providing some practical guidelines to reach Eudaimonia. Before I explain Aristotle s
Nicomachean Ethics through this movie, I will first provide a summary of the movie and then define
some words that Aristotle seems to use as overarching themes like arête, happiness, Eudaimonia, telos,
and the Golden Mean. The movie starts out as a musical number displaying different elements of
Halloween and concludes with presenting the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington. ... Show more content

Arête can be translated from Greek to mean virtue or excellence. Aristotle defines virtue as a state of
character concerned with choice. In the movie, Jack Skellington decides that being the best or the king
of Halloween means nothing. He makes a choice that he feels will develop him morally; he will try to
become Santa Claus. Jack was not born with these moral virtues though, as Aristotle might say.
Therefore he would need to apply virtue and reason to make the right choices and to do good things.
But the gifts that the residents of Halloween town created were not reasonable Christmas gifts that
provided joy and happiness to children. Even though Jack was aiming for excellence, there is no way
he could provide traditional gifts with the resources they had. But, Aristotle claims if Jack and the rest
of the town were educated enough and made it a habit, like the elves in North Pole do, they would
engrain that virtue. Like I mentioned in the above paragraph, Jack attempted to learn more about
Christmas, but the rest of the town just couldn t understand it. The reason why Jack was the King of
Halloween was because it was a habit, he lived it everyday and celebrated every year. Even though
Jack was the best at it, he never reached

Food Is Essential For A Person Alive Essay
Food, it is essential to keep a person alive. Without food, one cannot obtain the energy that they need
to perform everyday activities. Fortunately, with today s technologies and the knowledge that
humanity has gained over the centuries, food is a commodity that is plentiful for many people.
However, the bountiful amount of food and easy access to it has caused humans to become ignorant in
how their food is made, grown, and how it gets to their table. Many are also ignorant to the different
categories that their food could be classified as. Such categories are organic, non organic, GMO s and
much more. However, as time moves on, citizens are taking greater interest in growing their education
on what they eat. They are learning about how it is grown, prepared, and what types are more
beneficial for them and their families. Unfortunately, many get their information from illegitimate
sources. These sources being media, un educational websites, blogs, and many forms of propaganda.
The information that the illegitimate sources give out cause the true information to become censored
in a way. Where it is now hard for consumers to determine, what is the correct information and what is
built on lies and opinions. Such example is the debate between organic, non organic, and GMO s. The
media and other sources claim that organic is much more beneficial for you than nonorganic, and that
GMO s and conventionally grown produce are extremely harmful for you. However, this is not the
case at
