TASK 4 PHILOSOPHY AND THE CURRICULUM

HELLO! I’m… Alyssa Joyce M. Sugabo MELM 223 – Curriculum Development @[email protected]

TASK #4 Questions How does your philosophy of teaching and learning drive your future personal and professional choices? 01 03 2 What is your philosophy of teaching and learning as it relates to curriculum? How is philosophy a “crucial determinant” in curriculum trends and development?

1. How does your philosophy of teaching and learning drive your future personal and professional choices? As an educator, I am guided by the Latin proverb “By learning you will teach; by teaching you will learn.” This principle encapsulates my belief that teaching and learning are interconnected processes, where both the teacher and the learner grow and evolve together. By reflecting on past experiences and incorporating feedback, I am better informed to refine and enhance my teaching practices. In essence, the philosophy of teaching and learning charts our journey, creating a positive and engaging environment and embracing a diverse range of learning experiences, we pave the way for a brighter, more fulfilling future where every child can reach their fullest potential.

2. What is your philosophy of teaching and learning as it relates to curriculum? We believe that children learn best when exploring topics and interests at their own pace. We provide a rich array of resources for our K-12 students, from engaging teaching videos to practice lessons and printable multisensory activities. But what truly sets us apart is our commitment to customization. At our core, we are dedicated to crafting content that not only fosters a deep love of learning but truly resonates with students through relatable themes, relevant examples, and meaningful questioning, ensuring each lesson is a journey of discovery tailored to involving and inspiring young minds at every step.

3. How is philosophy a “crucial determinant” in curriculum trends and development? Over the years, our educational system has produces some quality frameworks for education. This concept emphasizes a shift from traditional educational methods to more dynamic, technology-driven, and learner-centered modes. A curriculum is a policy guideline for the educators to learn the philosophy of teaching and then implement practically the nuances and logic of this abstract philosophy of learning. As a policy of any curriculum is a soul of the further decisive step into what is actually worth teaching and what is trend. Not only that, a curriculum ensures the method of learning also. The important task is to establish the sample goals for every learner which are to be taken into consideration while drawing a successful and contemporary curriculum. There must be certain innovative and effective measures to work upon an advanced version of curriculum closer to the current trends of society and cultural indices.

THANK YOU!
