Presented by- Mukul Sunil Tambe. M. Pharm Sem.I Pharmacology. PHOSPHOLIPASE C IP3 DAG PATHWAY 10/22/2016 1

PLC is a class of membrane-associated enzymes that cleave phospholipids just before the phosphate group. It has important role in Signal Transduction. Binds to G α q subunit of G- Protein Coupled Receptor and activates it. Activators - Heterotrimeric G protein subunits, Protein Tyrosine kinases , Small G proteins, Ca 2+ and Phospholipids. PHOSPHOLIPASE C (PLC): 10/22/2016 2

ISOTYPE TYPES Beta ( β ) PLCB1, PLCB2, PLCB3, PLCB4 Gamma ( γ ) PLCG1, PLCG2 Delta ( δ ) PLCD1, PLCD3, PLCD4 Epsilon ( ε ) PLCE1 Eta( ζ ) PLCH1, PLCH2 Zeta ( η ) PLCZ1 Types of Phospholipase C: 10/22/2016 3

IP3 and DAG: Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate Diacyl glycerol 10/22/2016 4
