What is plagiarism Plagiarism is the act of passing off someone else’s work, ideas, or words as your own without proper acknowledgment or credit. The process or practice of using another person’s ideas or work and pretending that its your own. (Cambridge Dictionary) Plagiarism can also include re-using your own work without citation.

complete plagiarism It is the most serious form of Plagiarism. Researcher simply takes an original manuscript or researcher work that someone else created and submit it under his/her name. Fails to give credit to the original author or creator.
Source-based plagiarism Researcher references sources inaccurately or incompletely. Inadequate citation: Failing to provide enough information about the source, making it difficult to identify. Incorrect citation: Providing incorrect information about the source, such as wrong author or publication date.
self plagiarism Re-using your own research work without citation. Reusing entire paragraphs or sections from previous work. Recycling one’s own ideas or concepts without acknowledging previous work.
How to avoid plagiarism Properly cite sources :- Use quotation marks :- Paraphrase and summarize :- Use original language :- Cite images and media :- Keep track of sources :- Use plagiarism detection tools :- Understand fair use :- Seek permission :- Use citation management tools :-
