The country and geographic location of the port In Dubai, there are four ports: Jebel Ali, Port Rashid, Al Hamriyah Port and Port Saeed. The largest and most known Port is Jebel Ali Port, is located in 35km south of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Strategically located in Dubai, Jebel Ali port is at the crossroads of a region providing market access to over 2 billion people. The UAE is a country located on the coast of the Persian Gulf, the country is in the continent of Asia.
Annual volumes handled by Jebel Ali Port in tonnage and TEUs In 2014, the port handled 171,860,000 metric tons ranking 21 st in the world by tonnage and 15,200,000 TEUs ranking 9 th in the world by TEU. Current expansions at the port will bring total handling to 22,100,000 TEUs by 2018. Jebel Ali Port plays a vital role in serving the world markets with over 180 shipping lines and more than 90 weekly services connecting the Jebel Ali port to over 140 ports worldwide.
Chairman at the Port The Jebel Ali Port, is administered and operated by the DP World Authority. The Chairman and CEO of DP World is Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem.

Type of cargoes in Jebel Ali Port Jebel Ali Port's Container Terminals are equipped with a total of 23 berths and 78 cranes to cater to the world’s largest container vessels. Type of cargoes: Containerized goods LCL/consolidated goods Reefer cargos Breakbulk i.e. Construction materials Dry Bulk i.e. Sugar Liquid Bulk i.e. Petroleum products Ro-Ro i.e. Vehicles

Special/unique features about Jebel Ali Port The port authority DP World is driven by the idea to be number one in the world. They are projecting by 2030, the port will handle 55 million TEUs, making it the world’s biggest container port. Today, the Port is capable to handle 18000 TEUs vessels i.e. MV Barzan owned by UASC (Kuwait). Jebel Ali has the largest free zone in the world. Jebel Ali has direct logistic access to an international airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, that is projected to become the largest airport in the world.
