POWDER FACTOR &DETONATOR FACTOR
POWDER FACTOR POWDER FACTOR:- It is a ratio of coal Or ore produced in tonne to explosive required in kg. Tonnes of coal blasted per kg of explosive is known as powder factor. POWDER FACTOR:- COAL PRODUCED( IN TONNE) / EXPLOSIVE REQUIRED (IN KG) Powder factor- solid blasting- 2-2.5 te /kg Depillaring- 4.5-5 te /kg Cut blasting- 5-8 te /kg In opencast mines – coal – 7-10 te /kg, o/b 1.8-2.5 m3/kg
DETONATOR FACTOR DETONATOR FACTOR:- It is a ratio of coal Or ore produced in tonne to no. Of detonator used. Tonnes of coal blasted per Detonator is known as powder factor. DETONATOR FACTOR:- COAL PRODUCED( IN TONNE) / NO. OF DETONATOR. Detonator factor- solid blasting- 1.1-1.3 tonne /detonator Depillaring- 1.4-1.5 tonne /detonator Cut blasting- 1.8-2tonne/detonator
IMPORTANCE OF POWDER FACTOR & DETONATOR FACTOR These factors depends on hardness of coal, dimensions of gallery, cleavage in coal, type of explosive etc., and more importantly on effectiveness of drilling and blasting. These factors are indicative of efficiency of drilling and blasting operation.
