Global Forest Change Almost one-third of our land is covered in forests. But deforestation is cutting down our forests to about the size of Greece per year. That’s 50 soccer fields every minute By timely scanning of the forest boundaries and area we can find out intruders in the forest boundaries like some persons cut down the forest and make their residence there. To avoid these kind of interferences we can do timely scan o f the area using ARIAL LIDAR SURVEY technology. Apart from This main uses are:-
Architecture Designing & Monitoring Scanning buildings and bridges for quality control A building scan with LiDAR makes it possible to ensure construction matches with Building Information Modeling (BIM) .Most of the focus in GIS is typically on mapping the outdoor environment. But recently, it’s increasingly being used indoors. Indoor mapping specializes in mapping building floor plans. Advantages and Benefits Architects design buildings so people move through them efficiently. But sometimes a CAD drawing may not translate well in real life. When you digitally map your indoor floorplans, you can understand your workspace in new and unique ways. Aligning the point cloud from a terrestrial scan with a BIM design ensures construction quality and is on schedule. The biggest advantage is how real-time scanning can detect defects early in the project. Otherwise, it would be lost time and money to redo any faulty construction. Determining land use(infrastructure development monitoring model) If we carryout the LIDAR SCAN of a city area then in point cloud data we can do classification into more than one category, like classification of structures & building in one colour , vegetation in other and roads in other , so time to time scanning of a city or any terrain we can see the infrastructure development proceedings of any city or area. Building Information Modeling (BIM) 3D MODEL OF A CITY PLANNING
Ancient Structure Deformation Monitoring We can widely use the LIDAR SCANNER to generate the 3D Point Cloud Data of any ancient building or structures To preserved the original information of the structure So that if in future that structure is deformed by any natural climate effects or Any other means the we can reconstruct the same by following our3D Point Cloud Model
Geology & Mining GEOLOGY – Geologists use it to measure and map out the variations in slope, aspect , and elevation and study landforms By using the bare Earth points from LiDAR, hydrologists build digital elevation models . From here, flood modelers can map out areas prone to inundation before it happens. In this respect, LiDAR can provide an early warning system for flooding. Insurers can use this data to charge higher premiums MINING – The mining industry used LiDAR for monitoring the extraction process and mineral exploration. The capabilities of handheld laser scanners have large benefits for mines and their workflows. Tracking the progress of mining is essential to ensure that work is staying on course and that no deviation to plan is occurring. As a result, being able to frequently make effective short term operational decisions is vital. Detecting the velocity of rock movement is a critical indicator of potential slope/rockface instability. Therefore, accurately identifying convergence is paramount to ensuring the safety of employees. Handheld mobile mapping is a quick and repeatable process, allowing for more frequent data capture, which is advantageous within the mining sector. digital elevation model MINING PROGRESSIVE MODEL
Under Ground Utilities Mapping We all know underground waste water piping or gutters exists beneath our feet. Instead of just looking down or sending an living person in those gutter’s the augmented reality gives us an alternate view . So you don’t have to physically send any person through these manhole in the ground. We can check the blockage or any other things through the scan generated by arial LIDAR send through the manholes to these gutter’s or tunnels. But how this AR VIEW is created this all is possible only by generating the 3D VIEW of any terrain by point cloud data taken by the LIDAR OR SCAN SYSTEM. UNDERGROUND SEVERAGE SCANNING
