POWER TOOLS AND MACHINERIES USED IN AGRICULTURE

POWER TOOLS Are tools actuated by an additional power source and mechanism other than the solely manual labor used with hand tools. The most common types of power tools use electric motors and hydraulic power particularly a 2 stroke engine.

SOIL DRILLER/AUGER Is a mechanized post hole digger with a rotary action, used in drilling fence posts, housing posts and for garden planting. It is powered by a 2 stroke gasoline engine.

GRASS CUTTER is a 2 stroke gasoline engine used in cutting grasses and forages for feeding animals.

CHAINSAW Is a portable mechanical saw , powered by electricity or a two-stroke engine. It is used in activities such as tree felling, limbing , bucking, and pruning of trees.

LEAF BLOWER ( often referred to as simply a blower) is a gardening tool that propels air out of a nozzle to move debris such as leaves and grass cuttings. Leaf blowers are powered by electric or gasoline motors.

KNAPSACK POWER SPRAYER a piece of equipment that is used to apply herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers on agricultural crops.

HIGH PRESSURE POWER SPRAYER Use for pressure cleaning and disinfecting animal houses .

HEDGE TRIMMER shrub trimmer, or bush trimmer is a gardening tool or machine used for trimming (cutting, pruning) hedges or solitary shrubs (bushes ).

FARM EQUIPMENT is any kind of machinery used on a farm to help with farming.

TRACTOR The first of farm machinery in agriculture is tractor. a vehicle intended for drawing, towing, pushing or pulling something which cannot propel itself and often powering it too. serves to deliver a high tractive effort (or torque) at slow speeds.

HAND TRACTOR Walking tractor A vehicle having a powerful gasoline or diesel motor and usually large, heavily treaded rear tires, used especially for pulling farm implements or machinery.

GENERATOR a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy for use in an external circuit. provides nearly all of the power for electric power grids.

COMBINE a machine that "combines" the tasks of harvesting, threshing, and cleaning grain plants.

COTTON STRIPPER a machine that automates cotton harvesting. Mechanical cotton harvesters are of two types: strippers and pickers.

FIELD CULTIVATOR a farm implement for stirring and pulverizing the soil before planting or to remove weeds and to aerate and loosen the soil after the crop has begun to grow .

CUTTERS AND SHREDDERS Cutters and shredders are farming implements used to “cut or shred” unwanted weeds or other vegetative growth .

ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE A vehicle designed for off road use.

WHEEL TRACTOR SCRAPER Is a piece of heavy equipment used for earthmoving. suitable for weed removing operation in crop row of width 1.5’ and above.

PLANTERS AND SEEDERS are mechanical devices that automatically plants seeds in the ground.

PLOW plow is a tool used in farming for initial cultivation of soil in preparation for sowing seed or planting.

BALER baler is a piece of farm machinery that is used to compress a cut, raked, crop (such as hay or straw) into bales and bind the bales with twine, and compact bales that are easy to handle, transport and store.

REAPER-BINDER a farm implement for cutting small-grain crop and tie the stems into small bundles, or sheaves.

BACKHOE also called a rear actor, back actor or JCB is a piece of excavating equipment consisting of a digging bucket on the end of an articulated arm (also called a stick or dipper).

LOADER also called a front loader, front end loader, bucket loader, scoop loader or shovel is a type of tractor, usually wheeled, that uses a wide square tilting bucket on the end of movable arms to lift and move material.

SUBSOILER is a tractor mounted implement used to loosen and break up soil at depths below the level of a traditional disk harrow or rototiller.

HARROW is an implement for breaking up and smoothing out the surface of the soil.

ROTARY TILLER rotary tiller is a motorized cultivator that works the soil by means of rotating blades.

HULLER Also called rice husker is a kind of agricultural machinery to hull palay .

GRAIN CART is an implement that is used to transfer grains from one implement to another implement

CORN HARVESTER is a machine used on farms to harvest corn stripping the stalks about one foot from the ground shooting the stalks through the header to the ground

CORN SHELLER device built for the purpose of removing kernels from corncobs.

CENTRIFUGAL PUMP mechanical device used to transfer liquid of various types.

Examples of Centrifugal Pump

INCUBATOR device simulating avian incubation by keeping eggs warm and in the correct humidity, and if needed to turn them, to hatch them.

FEED PELLET MACHINE Machine for converting mash feeds into pellet form.

FEED MACHINE Machine for the manufacture of feeds

HAMMER MILL is a mill whose purpose is to shred or crush aggregate material into smaller pieces by the repeated blows of little hammers.

MILKING MACHINE a mechanical suction apparatus for milking cows It includes a vacuum pump, a pulsation system, clusters of teat cups, a rigid milk line, some flexible rubber tubes which connect the clusters to the milk line and a number of other components.

PASTEURIZING EQUIPMENT Equipment used to pasteurize liquids such as milk, fruit juices, etc.
