Before we begin this week’s lesson, let us first have a recall on the lesson that you have taken up when you were in Grade 5. Read the passage below. Rodney is an incoming Grade 6 pupil. He is very excited because finally, it is his last year as an Elementary pupil. He prepares all things that he will need for the next school year. A day before opening of classes, he covered his notebooks with plastic and pasted his name

Real Life Situation: Bert my uncle’s son is Grade 6 pupil who is a transferee from one of the schools in Cebu City to Dumaguete City. Upon his arrival at the port, the beautiful scenery of the city captivated his eyes. He was very excited because finally, he could study in one of the schools here in this city being his last year as an elementary pupil. He prepared all things that he will need for his schooling. He decided to iron his clothes the day before the opening of classes. He excitedly put his school belongings inside his bag and kept them in his cabinet. Bert was very excited but at the same time a bit anxious because he knew that he has weaknesses in understanding the English lessons.

Anticipated Problem: As one of his classmates, how will you help and encourage Bert so that learning English lessons will be easy for him like in composing sentences with the correct tense of the verb?

Verbs have different forms to show the simple present, simple past , and simple future tense of a sentence. 1 . Simple present form expresses actions that are done regularly. It is also used to tell general truth or facts.   To use the simple present form of the verb, you need to note whether the subject is singular or plural.

1 . When the subject of the sentence is singular , we use the be-verb s or we simply add -s or -es to the base form of the verb.
