SCIENCE LIGHT AND SHADOW meeting 2

SO, LET’S OPEN OUR MEETING BY SAYING “BASMALLAH” AND RECITING SURAH “AL-MUTOFFIFIN”

Ice Breaking Seru “ Pacu Jalur”

DO YOU STILL REMEMBER ABOUT OUR LAST MATERIAL?

LIGHT AND SHADOW

THE PURPOSE : ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE MATERIAL BELONGS TO TRANSPARENT, TRANSLUCENT AND OPAQUE. ABLE TO INVESTIGATE HOW THE SIZE OF A SHADOW IS AFFECTED BY THE POSITION OF THE OBJECT AND THE POSITION OF THE LIGHT SOURCE.

WHY DO WE CAN SEE ?

LIGHT

LOOK AT THE WINDOW !

TRANSPARENT IT MEANS LIGHT COMPLETELY PASSES THROUGH IT AND YOU CAN SEE CLEARLY THROUGH IT

TRANSLUCENT IT MEANS LIGHT SOME LIGHT PASSES THROUGH IT AND YOU CAN’T SEE CLEARLY THROUGH IT

OPAQUE IT MEANS NO LIGHT PASSES THROUGH IT AND IT BLOCKS THE LIGHT

A shadow is created when a solid object blocks light. The light will continue past the object but will not go through it, creating a shadow. The shadow will always be on the opposite side of the object to where the light is coming from. What other shadows have you seen? What is a Shadow? Have you seen your shadow? Share what it sometimes looks like.

Any kind of light can create shadows: Can you think of other types of light that can create a shadow? What Makes a Shadow? Did you know…. Light always travels in a straight line! a ceiling light; a torch; a lamp; the Sun; the Moon.

Our most important source of light is the Sun. Have you seen shadows when you have been outside? Objects that are outside block the Sun’s light from reaching every part of the surface. The size, shape and placement of the shadow depends on where the Sun is shining from and where the object is sitting. Throughout the day the Sun appears to move as the day goes on. But it is actually Earth spinning which makes our view of the Sun change. It takes 24 hours for the Earth to spin (rotate) around, which is one day and night for us. Different parts of the planet face the Sun or away from it, which is why the Sun seems to come up and go down each day. The Sun

Have a look at the next slides and decide where the sun might be coming from. Where is the Sun?

METODE PEMBELAJARAN 1. Let’s make a groups of 8 or 7 students. 2. There will be 3 groups with different activity that you will do. Group 1 = Sorting and observe the transparent, translucent, and opaque objects. ( bring a torch, scissors and glue ) Group 2 = Choose some 5 objects and Draw the position of the shadow ( brings the pencils and torch) Group 3 = Identify the object on the worksheet the differentiation of dimension of transparent, translucent, and opaque ( brings the pencils and scissors) 3. Presentate your result in front of the classroom.

reflection MARI BERTEMU GURU PENGAJAR What is the difference between shadow of an transparent, translucent and opaque object? Which sort of objects make the darkest shadow? Do you think the size of the shadow change if we increase the brightness of the torch? Think about your shadow. Are they always the same size?

Is there any questions?

Let’s review your understanding !

Excellent !! Thank you
