Statement of the Problem This study aims to examine the relationship between self-esteem levels and Academic Performance of Grade 12 HUMSS learners .
1.What is the academic performance of Grade 12 HUMMS learners for 1 st semester S.Y. 2022-2023? 2. What is the self-esteem of Grade 12 HUMSS learners? 3.Is there a significant relationship between academic performance & self-esteem of Grade 12 HUMMS academic performance?
Research Design This research used correlational research design. The correlational research design is to investigates relationship between variables without the researcher controlling or manipulating any of them. A correlation reflects the strength and/or direction of the relationship between two (or more) variables. The direction of a correlation can be either positive or negative ( Pritha Bhandari 2021).
Locale of the Study The study will be conducted at Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School, J.T. Bretaña Street, Ilaya Poblacion .
Respondents of the Study The participants were the Grade 12 HUMSS students of Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School. The study covered the Grade 12 HUMSS students with five (5) different sections. Grade 12 HUMSS students were chosen because their opinion about the "The Impact of Self-esteem on Grade 12 HUMSS learners Academic Performance".
The participants were selected from different sections to determine the standpoints and perceptions of the participants toward the study. The students were HUMSS Aphrodite, HUMSS Athena, HUMSS Artemis, HUMSS Apollo, and HUMSS Zeus. Table 1 illustrates the distribution of respondents among the sections of Grade 12 HUMSS students.

The table shows the number of students and number of respondents in each strand and sections. The HUMSS Aphrodite has 60, HUMSS Athena 61, HUMSS Artemis 62, HUMSS Apollo 63, and HUMSS Zeus 64 number of students. The number of respondents were taken proportionally with 34 in each section.
Sampling Techniques The present study used total population sampling which is a type of stratified random sampling techniques because only the Grade 12 HUMSS students from Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School were considered as the respondents of the study. Using Slovin's formula, the study included a total number of 170 respondents which were taken proportionally. In addition, target respondents were both males and females.

Data Gathering Procedure Procedure in achieving the vital results of this study examining the impact of self-esteem on the academic performance of Grade 12 HUMSS students, the following steps were observed in conducting this research:
The researcher submitted a permission letter to the office of the School Head principal to conduct the study and obtain the respondents' general average. The rapport was set up primarily to the respondents before the assessment to establish respondents' interest in the activity to get a desirable and reliable result.
The respondents were far from noise and other disturbances. Moreover, the researcher distributed the research instruments to the respondents. The respondents were given enough time to accomplish the questionnaires.
After the students finished answering the questionnaires, the results were immediately tallied, tabulated, and treated statistically to measure the student's Academic performance, the researcher gathered the respondents' general average for the school year 2023-2024 the data gathered were the bases for the presentation, analysis, and interpretation of the findings.
Data Analysis In this study, the following statistical tools and techniques were used to asses gathered data. Mean - was the statistical tool used to average the answer of the learners Academic Performance”. Standard Deviation- was the answer of the respondents were close to the mean.
Person Correlation- This was used to compare between the Academic Performance and Self-esteem of HUMSS learners who participated in the study. Zero to less than zero means that there are no associations between the 2 variables and greater than zero means that there coded in statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
