BHASKARACHARYA THE GREAT INDIAN MATHEMETICIAN MADE BY AYUSHMAN ,SAMARTH ,NISHANT ,DAKSH  AND JAYANT

WHO WAS BHASKARACHARYA ? Bhaskara was born to Mahesvara in 1114 A.D., a famous astrologer, near Vijjadavida (present-day Bijapur district) in the state of Karnataka. Bhaskaracharya was the first mathematician to write a work with full and systematic use of the decimal number system. He is also known as Bhaskara II and Bhaskar Aacharya .

CONTRIBUTIONS TO MATHEMATICS Calculus    His work, the  Siddhānta Shiromani linked to calculus , is an astronomical treatise and contains many theories not found in earlier works Arithmetic     Bhaskara's arithmetic text  Līlāvatī  covers the topics of definitions, arithmetical terms, interest computation, arithmetical and geometrical  progressions Algebra    His  Bījaganita  (" Algebra ") was a work in twelve chapters. It was the first text to recognize that a positive number has two square roots  (a positive and negative square root). Trigonometry    The  Siddhānta Shiromani  (written in 1150) demonstrates Bhaskara's  knowledge of trigonometry, including the sine table and relationships between different trigonometric functions.

Bhaskara's   Siddhānta Śiromaṇi   Siddhanta Shiromani  (Sanskrit:   सिद्धान्त शिरोमणि ) for "Crown of treatises") is the major treatise of Indian mathematician Bhāskara II. He wrote the  Siddhānta Śiromaṇi  in 1150 A.D when he was 36 years old. The work is composed in Sanskrit Language in 1450 verses.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO ASTRONOMY He was the first to calculate the time taken for the Earth to orbit the Sun Estimated the value of π (pi) as 3.1416 Accurately calculated the positions of celestial bodies Proposed the concept of "mean longitudes" to predict the movement of planets Developed the concept of "backlash error" in astronomical instruments

Final Days Bhaskara was a natural born teacher and mathematician. As is common at his time, generations of a family would be mathematicians, with each father passing on knowledge to their sons. Bhaskara himself passed on his knowledge to his son, Loksamudra . Bhaskaracharya passed away in 1185 A.D. at Ujjain.
