KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT 2 1.0 PURPOSE The purpose of this procedure is to provide the necessary methods for controlling the use of temporary electricity on site. Temporary electricity can be classed as one of the most potentially dangerous areas of risk that exists on a construction site, and it is important that an adequate procedure is in place.

KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT 3 2.0 SCOPE This procedure applies to all FJT project worksite and facilities, site temporary electrical equipment including site distribution systems, power tools, welding transformers, lighting, power generation and any other piece of electrical equipment not required for the permanent works.

4. KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT 4 3.0 DEFINITIONS Temporary electricity applies to all temporary power supplies and equipment used in connection with the execution of the construction works.

7. KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT 7 General Safe Work Practices Key safety guidelines including keeping hands off connected apparatus, questioning unauthorized personnel, and ensuring a clean workspace.

8. KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT 8 Power Generators Guidelines for maintaining and operating generators, including proper fuel storage and earthing.
