Elections in a vast democracy like India should be open and fair but traditional methods are resource-intensive and can lead to issues like machine failures and violence. E-Voting System can address these drawbacks by offering accuracy, security, and flexibility. It uses biometric authentication, including Face Detection and Recognition, to enhance security and reduce voting time. Admins and users have separate logins for various functions. Voters identities are verified through biometrics, ensuring they are eligible to cast their votes, making the system an efficient and secure alternative to traditional methods for voter registration, casting, verification, and result announcement. Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering INTRODUCTION

AI-driven decentralized voting systems using blockchain technology provide a heightened level of security by leveraging cryptographic principles. The immutability of the blockchain ensures that once a vote is recorded, it cannot be altered or tampered with, reducing the risk of fraud and manipulation. Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering INTRODUCTION

To accomplish enhanced accessibility, the e-voting System will ensure that every eligible voter, regardless of their geographical location, can easily participate in the democratic process. To minimize voting-related issues, the system will address common issues such as machine failures and violence associated with traditional elections, ensuring a smoother and more peaceful voting experience. Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering OBJECTIVES

Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering To build trust and confidence in the democratic process, the Voting System will implement advanced biometric authentication methods, like Face Detection and Recognition, to strengthen the security of the voting system. This will safeguard the integrity of the election and ensure that only eligible voters can cast their ballots. To design a user-friendly platform, we aim to provide voters with an accessible and convenient system that allows them to participate in elections at their convenience, promoting higher voter turnout. OBJECTIVES

To implement resource optimization, the Voting System will reduce the burden on human and financial resources associated with traditional elections, making the process more cost-effective and sustainable. This will help streamline the electoral process and ensure the efficient allocation of resources. Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. At present there are two types of voting methods, they are: A. Ballot Voting B. EVM Voting Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering EXISTING SYSTEM

A. Ballot Voting A ballot is a device used to cast votes in an election, and may be a piece of paper used in secret voting. In this the voter is given a paper which consists of all the party symbols along with representative names in it. Here, people come to the polling booth, take the ballot paper and vote by putting a stamp on the desired party symbol. Finally, the ballot paper is folded and dropped into the ballot box. At last, the votes are counted by the Election commission officers. Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering EXISTING SYSTEM

Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering EXISTING SYSTEM B. EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) Voting The existing voting system in India relies on EVMs where voters select a party symbol and representative by pressing a button. After voting, EVMs are sealed, transported, and counted centrally under security supervision. EVMs are connected to a Counting Control Unit (CCU) for electronic vote tabulation. Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) are sometimes used to print paper records for manual verification.

Bangalore Institute of Technology K.R. Road, V.V. Pura, Bengaluru.-560004. D epartment of Computer Science & Engineering Limitations The ballot papers may be lost at the time of counting which may affect results of the particular area or people may miscount the number of votes which leads authority into wrong hands. EVM machines sometimes get corrupted and polling gets stopped temporarily and a lot of time is wasted or EVM may be tampered and the casted votes may be polled to a particular party only, even the vote is casted to different candidates or parties. EXISTING SYSTEM
