CRITICAL REVIEW FROM LITERATURE The pervious concrete is found to be effective as it drains the water. It is observed that strength of pervious concrete is low compared to normal concrete. To enhance the strength, fly ash and alccofine was replaced by weight of cement. Fly ash with its property decreased the strength after 20% replacement but increased the permeability. Alccofine which is also known as Ultrafine Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (UFGGBS) gives higher strength. Its fineness property reduces permeability, affecting the purpose. Hyposludge , a paper industry waste being effective increases the strength but no permeability is achieved. Porosity of pervious concrete is affected by size and shape of aggregate. OBJECTIVE OF PROJECT To test the various properties of pervious concrete by using industrial waste like fly ash and alccofine. Compare mixes by varying w/c ratio, i.e. 0.3 & 0.4 To examine the pervious concrete mix whose properties re suitable for use as a pavement. Recommend optimal mix based on tests and results. SCOPE OF PROJECT The scope of the work is to investigate pervious concrete made from industrial waste. To carry out the investigation the study was done on various industrial waste such as fly ash, alccofine. Mix design calculation was done by ACI method (American Concrete Institute). CONCLUSION Pervious concrete is a special type of concrete with high proportion of large sized pores which ultimately reduces the strength. Fly ash results in decreased compressive strength, while in case of Alccofine the compressive strength of pervious concrete is increased. Fly ash results in higher infiltration rate due to more voids as compared to alccofine which results in lower infiltration rate . 53 UTILIZATION OF FLY ASH AND ALCCOFINE IN PERVIOUS CONCRETE AND ITS APPLICATION IN PAVEMENT

CONCLUSION Greater the aggregate size the greater is the permeability but lower is the strength and vice-versa.
