PARTICIPATION IN ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE PHYSICAL FITNESS (grade 10)

Definition of Physical fitness 2 . Activities that promote physical fitness 3. Health benefits of physical activities

DEFINING PHYSICAL FITNESS Physical fitness is the state of your body system and well-being of an individual where they perform together to be healthy and perform daily Fitness activities ( Piggin 2020) A physical state in which any individual can sustain the well-being and performance under all conditions The performance of activitie’s that include the movements of all the muscles of the body

ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE PHYSICAL FITNESS SPORTS Different sports include continuous movement of muscles. Participating in sport burn calories and build muscle tone ( Sledentor , Van der mars 2022) Increases muscle endurance.

BALANCE AND COORDINATION Helps maintain stability and improved posture ( Dunsky 2019) Strengthen muscles for better control of movements. Stronger abdominal and lower back muscles.

Improved balance and endurance and the boost of cardiovascular health. Improve heart and lung functions and boost more energy More energy is required in outdoor activities that leads to more high calorie burns. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

STRENGTH TRAINING Allows to perform more tasks easier and boost more metabolic rate The ability to perform daily activities leads to improvement in functional strength Builds muscle endurance in physical activities

HEALTH BENEFITS OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES Improved heart function- reducing the risk of heart disease Burns fat (calories) – maintaining a healthy weight Less stress – the release of endorphins and an improved healthy mood Reduced risk of diseases – a healthy metabolic health and boosted immune system leading to good circulation
