PRIMCIPLES OF art- Are what artist uses to organize elements within a work of art.
Unity/Harmony- This is the wholeness to achieved completeness of the art.
Rhythm- The repetition of the elements of arts and pattern.
Emphasis- When one part of an artwork is dominant over others.
Balance- Equalizing visual forces or elements in an artwork.
Three Types of Balance 1. Symmetrical Balance – is when objects in the artwork are balanced evenly.
Three Types of Balance 2. Asymmetrical Balance – is when objects in the artwork are balanced unevenly.
Three Types of Balance 3. Radial Balance – is when objects in the artwork are balanced in a circular manner.
Movement- Creates the illusion of action or Physical change in an artwork.
Proportion Refers to the relationships of the size objects in a body of work.
Variety- Is a principle of design concerned with diversity or contrast. Variety is achieved by using different shapes sizes and/or colors in a work of art.
Contrast- Shows differences between elements of art in an artwork. Shows how stronger each element of art in relation to one another.
