ORIGIN Jackfruit are originated from The rain forest of western ghats of India. Jackfruits are cultivated usually in Tropical regions ( I.e ) southeast Asia. Jackfruit is native to India ,Thailand and Indonesia.
DISTRIBUTION Asia: India, Myanmar, Indonesia,China , Thailand, Philippines, Srilanka . Africa : Kenya , Uganda , Mauritius. America: Mexico , Caribbean , central and South America , Brazil.
CLIMATE Jackfruit production is more in Tropical lowlands where there is a humid and warm climate The temperature ranges from 25°C to 30°C at day and 18°C at night
SOIL The soil best for jackfruit cultivation is rich, deep, alluvial soil and the soil should be well drained soil.
SPECIES There are almost sixty genus of Artocarpus are presented in the world . Jackfruit comes under the family called moraceae .
