Punjab : the land of five watres

Places of punjab : 1] golden temple Golden Temple or Sri Harmindir Sahib is the holiest place for the Sikh community. The Golden Temple witnesses millions of tourists and devotees all round the year. The temple was constructed in the 16 th  century and ever since then it is surrounded by a beautiful lake. The holy texts of the community were introduced in this temple itself. The upper floor of the temple was actually made of pure gold. 

2] Jallianwala bagh A popular patriotic historical place in Punjab, Jallianwala Bagh is located at a very close proximity to the Golden Temple. When you visit Jallianwala Bagh , you can still find the well in which thousands of people jumped in to save themselves from the firing that was opened by the Army of General Dyer in 1919. You can also see the blood stains and marks of bullets on the walls in the garden

3] Wagah border Wagah Border is one of the attractions that no tourist should miss while on their trip to Punjab. Located at a distance of 28 km from Amritsar, this is the place where boundaries between India and Pakistan are marked. The flag ceremony in Wagah Border has been conducting since 1959 by both the Indian Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers. The ceremony includes closing the international gates every single day and lowering the flags of the respective countries. Every day before the sunset, soldiers from the Army of both the countries meet at this gate and display military camaraderie for 30 minutes .

4] chandigarh The capital of Punjab, Chandigarh is counted among the metro cities of India and among the top places to visit in Punjab. This welcoming city will greet you with the flavors of everything between modernity and antiquity. Chandigarh also is one of the cleanest cities in the country, lounging at a cafe or unwinding by a lake or garden. If you’re wondering what to see in Punjab, this city has to be your answer. 5] Jama masjid   A historic mosque with a deep connection to the country’s freedom struggle, Jama Masjid Khairuddin is another must-visit attraction in Amritsar. It was built by Mohd . Khairuddin in the year 1876 and is thus also called Khairuddin Mosque. It is the sacred place from where Tootie -e-Hind, Shah Attaullah Bukhari , had given the great call to stand up against colonial rulers. The mosque is also famous for its impressive Islamic style of architecture, featuring intricate designs, four minarets, and three domes .
