What is Creative Nonfiction? Creative nonfiction is writing about facts rather than fiction .

What do you mean by “writing about facts rather than fiction?” It is about fact and truth. The truth can be about a personal experience, event, or issue in the public eye.

MOST POPULAR TYPES AND FORMS OF CREATIVE NONFICTION

AUTOBIOGRAPHY A written account of the life of a person written by that person

BIOGRAPHY A detailed description or account of a person’s life

LITERARY JOURNALISM / REPORTAGE R eports on an event, history or an actual case based on direct observation, investigation or thorough research and documentation

TRAVELOGUE I t is a person’s account of a journey to another country or place. It can either be a written report with many factual details or a narrative story about personal impressions and experiences supported by images .

REFLECTION ESSAY A form of writing that examines and observes the progress and meaning of a writer’s individual experiences like a journal about the thoughts on a certain topic .
