Target Games
It is fun to reminisce beautiful memories during childhood. One of the enjoyable moments to remember is playing indoor and outdoor native games and have fun with friends and relatives. Games help deepen relationship among playmates. Cooperation, fair as you grow older. These types of games are readily available, wholesome, fun and easy to perform or play. Enjoy playing your very own native games.
In target games, you either throw, slide or strike an objects. These games can also be done individually or as a team.
Tumbang Preso Tumbang preso, also known as presohan, is a popular Filipino street game. It has been a favorite street game among children. Even adults can play and enjoy this game.
Number of players : 4 or more Playing area : outdoor playground Materials : semi- flattened empty tin can and a slipper as pamato 1. Do the “ maalis taya” or “odd one out”. The players stack their hands on the top of each other’s hand and do a palm up or palm down all at the same time to determine who will be the prisoner or preso, the one who will guard the empty can.
2. The other players will line up behind the throwing line and take turns to aim at the empty tin can with their pamato. After striking it, the players should try to recover their pamato and run back to the throwing line to try knock down the can again. 3. If the empty can is knocked down, the prisoner must put it back in the upright position before he or she tags any of the players who are trying to get their pamato back.
4. The preso can also tag the players while they are retrieving their pamato beyond the throwing line. If the pamato becomes too close to the tin can in an upright position, the prisoner can step on both with one foot. The owner of the pamato becomes the new prisoner.
