SENTENCE It is a group of words that contains Subject and Predicate and expresses a complete thought. The baby is smiling.

Rewrite the group of words as a sentence by making the first letter A BIG LETTER and adding a PERIOD at the end of the group of words.

Sentences are classified in two ways: According to function; and According to structure.

TYPES OF SENTENCES ACCORDING TO FUNCTION DECLARATIVE TELLS/ STATES SOMETHING, ends with a (.) Example: Lyra has a lot of Tiktok videos.

2. INTERROGATIVE ASKS SOMETHING ends with (?) Example: Did you sleep?

3. IMPERATIVE COMMANDS/REQUESTS ends with (.) Example: Get my bag. Please, help me.

4. EXCLAMATORY EXPRESS STRONG EMOTION ends with (!) Example: Don’t run! Hurray!
