1. Chasing the Wind Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ Ecclesiastes 1:17 Ecclesiastes 6:9 1 John 2:15-17 Matthew 6:19-24 Pastor Mark Behr

2. Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ESV 14  I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind. . 

3. Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ ESV 17  And I applied my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is but a striving after wind. 

4. Ecclesiastes‬ 6:9‬ ESV 9  Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the appetite: this also is vanity and a striving after wind.

6. 1 John 2:15-17 ESV 15  Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  16  For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 

7. 1 John 2:15-17 ESV 17  And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

Matthew 6:19-24 ESV 19  “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,  20  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.  21  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 

10. Matthew 6:19-24 ESV 22  “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light,  23  but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! 

11. Matthew 6:19-24 ESV 24  “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
