Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Key Life-Saving Techniques

Introduction to CPR CPR is an emergency procedure performed to manually preserve brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest.

Basic Steps of CPR 1. Call for emergency help immediately. 2. Check for responsiveness and breathing. 3. Start chest compressions: Push hard and fast in the center of the chest at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute. 4. Provide rescue breaths: After every 30 compressions, give 2 breaths. 5. Continue CPR until medical professionals arrive or the person starts breathing.

Hands-Only CPR Hands-Only CPR involves only chest compressions and is recommended for untrained rescuers or when rescue breaths are not possible. 1. Call emergency services. 2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.

Importance of Early CPR and AED Use Early CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival after cardiac arrest. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) can help restore a normal heart rhythm in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.
