corticalboundaries.

RAREFYINGOSTEITIS(Internalstructure)
Inflammationofbone(osteitis)resultingin
resorptionofbone(rarefaction).
Thetermisnotadiagnosisbutisaradiographic
interpretationthatincludesperiapicalcyst,
abscessandgranuloma.
earlylesionshowsnochangesinbonepatternbut
usuallyresultsinwideningofPDLspace.
chroniclesionsshowsrarefaction(lossofbone
givingradiolucentappearance)
hencewhenlesionisundergoingboneresorption,
thetermperiapicalrarefyingosteitisisused
