N F R A C T I O SOLVE THE PUZZLE! A fraction is used to represent the portion/part of the whole thing. It represents the equal parts of the whole. A fraction has two parts, namely the numerator and denominator. The number on the top is called the numerator , and on the bottom is called the denominator .

Rational Algebraic Expressions

A rational algebraic expression which can be represented as the quotient of two polynomials. It takes the form where and are polynomials and . We say that a rational algebraic expression is meaningless for those values of the variable for which the denominator is zero.
