Land preparation and some practices- - Prepare the land by country plough / Desi plough ./ sow the seed behind the plough At 2-3 weeks before transplanting At 10 days after 1 st ploughing 3 days before transplanting –do puddling When seedlings' are 3-4 weeks old –go for transplanting No. of seedlings per hill -2-3
BEUSHANA ( in odia ) & LEVELLING ‘’ Beushana ”– 2 months after transplanting . ( when it is of 1 foot height )- they do by standing in a wooden plank ( MAI) and pulled by bullocks .– helps in levelling of land . In this process, Rice is present at upper level and weeds goes to deep water level layers and gets decomposed & mixed in the soil . –reduce weed growth and also exposes the resting structures , pupal stages of insects .
BEUSHENING ( Khelua in odia ) After 2 weeks of beushana -- do khelua –maintain the optimum plant population by uprooting plants from densely populated areas to plane / gap areas –thus maintains uniformity . Also through this it gives a good soil aeration in the standing crops and done in 5-10 cm depth standing water .
Nutrient management Land preparation & sowing time– urea – 30 kg , ssp – 12kg , potash – 10kg per acre , Gromor ( 14-35-14) ---10 -12 kg / acre At 4-5 days after Beushana --- when plants gets established after disturbances . urea – 10 kg / acre , gromor – 3-4 kg / ac. At flowering stage – 4kg urea and potash – 2 kg per acre Use Danadar for pests control and termites control and also potash helps in disease resistance .
YIELD AND ECONOMICS 1 acre =24 bags =24x 75= 1800kg ( 1bag = 75kg) he sells to 12q So total he got by selling ( gross return)= Rs. 18,000 Cost of cultivation = Rs. 7000 ( including chemicals , labour etc .) Net return / profit = Rs.18000- Rs. 7000= Rs. 11000 B:C Ratio= Rs. 11000/ Rs. 7000= 1.57 GOVT. ./ MANDIS - =Rs 1500/ q Private dealers , commision agents – Rs 1200 /q
