What is Realistic Fiction? A story that could happen in real life, with realistic characters and events.

"Titanic" can be considered realistic fiction because it is based on a real historical event—the sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 1912—but includes fictional elements, such as made-up characters and dramatized interactions.

– Believable characters. – Act like real people with real emotions. - True-to-life setting. – Based on real places and time periods. -Everyday conflicts – Family, friendships, school, etc. -No magical or supernatural elements -It’s a made – up story. Features of Realistic fiction

What is Non-Realistic Fiction? A story that includes elements that are impossible in real life.

-Fantasy or sci-fi elements – Magic, time travel, superheroes. -Imaginary settings. – Outer space, magical worlds, future societies. -Characters with special abilities. – Talking animals, wizards, aliens. -Impossible events – Flying, shape-shifting, mind reading. Features of Non -Realistic fiction

Activity 1-Look at these book titles. 2-Which are realistic fiction? Which are non-realistic? 3-Explain why with one key feature.

Non-Realistic Fiction Features talking animals, which is impossible in real life.

Non-Realistic Fiction Includes time travel, supernatural beings, and science fiction elements.

Realistic Fiction Deals with real-world social issues, realistic characters, and a believable setting.

Non-Realistic Fiction Takes place in a fantasy world with magical creatures and impossible events.

🔹 Realistic fiction = Believable, real-world stories. 🔹 Non-realistic fiction = Imaginary worlds & events. 🔹 Both genres help us explore different ideas and emotions.
