CRUMPLED REMINDER - HELP STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THE SCIENCE BEHIND mistakes by this activity. ▪ Have students recall a mistake that they made in the present week/last day and how it made them feel. Were they angry, disappointed, sad, or confused? Ask them to write it on a piece of paper.

NEXT, ASK THEM TO GET A FRESH PIECE OF PAPER, CRUMPLE IT AND THROW IT at the ground along with the feelings you had when you made the mistake you wrote about. Ask them to imagine that the feelings that they wrote about is thrown along with this crumpled paper. ▪ Retrieve the paper, un-crumple it and colour each line with different colors. Ask them what do you think these lines may represent? ▪ Explain that the lines represent all the brain activity that happens when a mistake is made, and it means that your brain is growing and changing with all of these lines!

FINALLY, TELL THEM TO KEEP THIS COLOURED, CRUMPLED PAPER AND STICK IT IN a the GK notebook that you use often so you can look at it . the next time you make a mistake. This paper will remind you that mistakes strengthen your brain every time you open your notebook, and that making mistakes is a part of growing! ▪ Wrap up this activity by explaining that making a mistake does not mean you have failed; it is learning to do better next time! The most important thing is that you keep trying at something— even if you fall 100 times, you get up 101.
