Structure of Recount Text 1. Orientation: Introduce who, when, and where. 2. Events: Tell what happened in sequence. 3. Re-orientation: Closing / conclusion.
Example Text Last holiday, I went to Bandung with my family. We visited the zoo and saw many animals. After that, we ate noodles in a small restaurant. Finally, we went home. It was a fun holiday. Orientation: Last holiday, I went to Bandung… Events: We visited the zoo… we ate noodles… Re-orientation: Finally, we went home. It was a fun holiday.
Practice – Fill the Blanks Complete with the correct verb 2: 1. I ____ (go) to Jakarta last week. 2. We ____ (eat) fried rice yesterday. 3. She ____ (visit) her grandmother last holiday.
Group Project Work in groups (3–4 students): • Write 5–7 sentences about your holiday. • Use at least 5 past tense verbs. • Add an illustration or timeline. • Prepare to present your story.
