14. Shanti Devi Shanti Devi, a girl growing up in Delhi, born 11 December,1926 began speaking of her previous family when she was 4 years old. She told her parents that her real name is “Lugdi Bai” & her real home was in “Mathura”. She ran away from home at age 6, trying to reach Mathura. She had died (on 4 October, 1925) ten days after having given birth to a child. Mahatma Gandhi talked to Shanti Devi and organized a committee of prominent citizens to accompany her to Mathura and check the claims of Shanti Devi.
