What is Personal Relationship? It refer to close connections between people, formed by emotional bonds and interactions. Relationship are not static; they are continually evolving.

Family The concept of family is an essential component in any discussion of relationships. It was defined as “two or more persons who are related by birth, marriage, or adoption and who live together as one household”(Bureau Of the Census).

Friends A friendship is a close tie between two people that is often built upon mutual experiences, shared interest, proximity, and emotional bonding. Online friends don’t count toward close ties.
Partnerships Romantic partnerships are closely relationships formed between two people that are built upon affection, trust, intimacy, and romantic love. We experience this with only ONE person at a time.

1. PHILIA is alove between friends, Philia connotes friendship.
2. EROS is the sense of being in love. It is described as passionate love between two individuals. It transcends friendship. The affection is romantic in nature.
3. STORGE i s affectionate love for the family. It is love that is shared naturally.
4. Agape i s unconditional love. Agape suggests something divine, devotional, and acrificing. It describes a love that is pure and selfless.

Love should never hurt Dating relationship can be wonderful. But then, you should always take care of yourself. Some students have suffered violence such as hitting, slapping or kicking from someone they date.
Type of Violence Sexual Abuse- involves any kind of unwanted sexual advance. Emotional Abuse- anything that harms your self-esteem or causes shame. Reminder: You deserve healthy, happy relationship. Abuse of any type is never okay.
Abuse and Assault Love should never hurt. But sometimes it does. Base on a research, 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men were sexually assaulted. 1.5 million women and over 800,000 males are sexually assaulted and or physically abuse by their partner Abuse may take place in any kind of relationship—straight and gay, casual and long term, young and adult. If you have been mistreated, IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT.
Break the Silence: Stop the Violence Parents talk with teens about developing healthy, respectful relationships before they start dating.
How to Communicate None of us are a mind reader, therefore, we have to be open about our needs and expectations. Communicating openly on issues of sex and sexual health is important in romantic relationship. Think about your boundaries ahead of time and discuss them with a partner when you are not currently in a sexual mood.

Talking to your Parents Most parents want to help their kids make smart decisions about sex. Other than that, someone else’ parent…a teacher or guidance counselor , coaches, aunt, uncle, neighbor or another adult you instinctively trust. Friends, internet and other media can’t give you everything you need.
REMEMBER : NOT EVERY PERSON YOUR AGE IS HAVING SEX.
Ways to avoid peer or date pressure: Hang out with friends who believes that it’s okay to NOT be ready for sex yet. Go out with group of friends rather than only your partner Introdduce you friends to your parents Invite your friends to your home Stick up for your friends if they are being pressured to have sex Think of what you would say incase someone tries to pressure you.
Always carry money for a telephone call or cab. Be ready to call your mom, dad or friend to pick you I you need to leave a date Never feel obligated to pay someone back Say NO and mean NO if that’s how you feel
Drug and Alcohol Survey says that 9 out of 10 people reported that their peers use alcohol or illegal drugs before sex atleast some time. The effect of drug and alcohol can make it hard to think clearly, let alone make the best possible decision about sex.

SUMMARY Relationship is not static; they are changeable. There are 3 kinds of Personal relationship: Family, Friends and Partnerships. Healthy relationships are vital component of health and wellbeing. Most of couples encountered relationship problems such as cheating, lack of support and communication etc.
