3. Topic : The Renaissance Period(1450-1660)

4. Renaissance Renaissance means rebirth(re=again , naissence =birth ). Revival of classical learning. The Renaissance had its beginnings in Italy. The Renaissance is a period from 14 th to the 17 th century. It is also called the golden age of English Literature.

5. PRINTING PRESS Invented in 1436. Associated with Gutenberg. Developed in Germany. Moveable type printing. 1456 the first Bible was printed.

6. CLOCK Galileo,an italian scientist,discovered the pendulum in 1581. The idea of quantification developed.

7. COLUMBUS Columbus discovered America in Renaissance.

9. MARTIN LUTHER German Preist . Founds the Lutheran Church. Church believed salvation gained from faith.

10. HISTORY Henray VIII was the catbolic king of England. At first king Henry supported the church against protestants. He wanted to annul his marriage and marry someone else in order to produce a male heir. Pope refused to grant divorce. Henry dismissed the authority of the pope. Henry decided to break from Catholic Church.

11. IN THIS ERA The philosophy of Christian Humanism spreads across Europe. Florence became a center for art,culture,literature . Scientists viewed the universe in new ways. Writers and Artists used the new technics. The Renaissance was a great time of beuty and art.
