5. (5-S System)
5-S system is taken from the Japanese works culture. This system is useful in industrial sector as well as to
develop good working habits in society also. All the factory employees should follow 5-S systems to create
good industrial working environment.
The meaning of all five “S” is as under:-

electrical, tailoring, fitter etc. but in OCFS presently training on tailoring is being given. The main goal
of this section is generate workmen for the future by giving training in a particular stream.
The Training Section is also managing periodical (summer/winter vocations) training to wards of
the factory employees who are studying in different technical / professional courses. This section is
providing every possible guidance / assistance to trainee students by which trainees are able to gain
knowledge about this organization / concern department and to improve their skills & personality to

I have completed my six weeks training in ITC department; this section is one of the sections of engineering
group of this factory. This is one of the vital department s of O.C.F, Shahjahanpur. Processing of all types of
information is handled by ITC. Many computerized work is being performed here which concerned with the
different processes / activities required to run the factory.
The work of ITC is divided into four main parts:
7.1 P.P.C Package (Production and Planning Control)
7.2 E-Admin (Administration)

7.5 Visitor Management System
These four parts contain different modules to handle all the processing of the factory. The description of all
the four parts is given below:

7.2 EARS:
“Electronic Attendance Recording System” is used in factory for the attendance calculations of
the employees. Every employee has an identity card on to which a unique personal number and
other details like name, category is printed which recognize a particular employee. Actually this
card acts as a punching machine in the whole factory, placed at different locations.
Data is transferred through punching machines received through a HUB to a computer, where
software entitled “TIME OFFICE SYSTEM (TOS)” is used for the attendance calculation.

7.3COMNET:
It is communication network used to connect the entire ordnance factories, training institute and head
quarters. The main feature of COMNET is to voice and data transfer. The data is transferred through e-
mails and voice is transferred through IP phones.
The main work of ITC is to provide support to every section in there work and solve the problems
related to programming.
All the information is handled through computers. Whole factory can use an internet environment.
Approximately 94 terminals and are located at different places in the factory attached to LAN servers.
There are also 75 PC out of which 45 computers are also in LAN connections, are used in the factory.
Peer to peer networking is used by the factory. The programming used is visual basic.
7.4VISITOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
In the visitor system record the detail of the person who enter in the factory through gate pass, and
the visitors are managed by the gate pass management system with her /his identification (voter id)
In this also include the:
1.Photo
2.Address
3.Name
4.In time
5.Out time
