Car Still Goes Like A Bomb 71 Years Later

A pensioner's car that survived a Nazi bombing raid during
WWII is back on the road 71 years later - after passing its first
ever MOT with flying colours.Sprightly Alice Day, 97, was
stunned when her prized Austin Seven Ruby flew through
the test despite not being driven for over half a century.

The black motor, which has clocked up 73,000 miles, came
just inches away from being crushed by falling masonry
after the Luftwaffe carpet bombed the street where it was
parked in February 1941.

Wacky Wayne O'Donnell takes his pet duck Boris everywhere -
even on holiday to Spain.

Boris, an Aylesbury duck, wanders loyally down the street with his
owner, like a dog being taken for a walk.

And he even enjoys sipping beer in a bar, taking a ride in the
passenger seat of Wayne's car and perching on the top his
owner's head.

In fact there's only one thing the pet duck doesn't like - and that's
swimming in water.

Wayne even takes Boris with him when he jets off to a villa in
Barcelona for his summer holidays.

How's This For A New Year's Kiss: Squirrel Smooches With
Dinosaur

A toy dinosaur proved a roaring hit with one amorous squirrel -
earning itself an intimate kiss.The cheeky critter was pictured
spying the plastic prehistoric toy on a garden table before moving
in to give it a hug.

It then lent over to plant a squirrely kiss on the toothy mouth - all
the while cradling the unmoved T-Rex's head.
But it wasn't simple Jurassic attraction that tempted the bushy-
tailed Romeo.

Photographer Elliott C Nathan had mischievously placed a tasty
seed in the dinosaur's mouth.

He explains: "I took these photos in my yard in Boulder, Colorado.
I spent about half an hour getting the squirrel to trust me with
seeds then I started putting them onto things.

"He was careful about the dinosaur at first, but finally his hunger
got the best of him and he went in for the kiss."

Saved from tidal terror.It was a race against the tide that pulled at
the heartstrings.

For three hours yesterday, show horse Astro was stuck neck
deep in thick mud at Avalon Beach on Corio Bay as the tide
inched closer.

Rescue crews first tried to pull the 18-year-old, 500kg horse free
with fire hoses, and then a winch before a vet turned up to sedate
Astro and pull him clear with a tractor.

The crews knew by 5pm the tide would have come all the way in.
But within minutes of the waters rising around him, Astro was
being dragged up on to solid ground slowly but surely, the team
filthy but ecstatic.

Owner Nicole Graham said she and daughter Paris, 7, set off at
noon when without warning she sunk up to her waist in thick,
smelly muck

A man makes ghostly and surreal apparitions appear out of
the darkness just by using water and paint.

Photographer Mark Mawson's specialised techniques
involves adding different hues and densities of paint to
water to create otherworldly shapes. The results are eye-
catching and complex kaleidoscopes of colour he calls
"alien".

London-based Mark specialises in shooting people
underwater but wanted a new artistic challenge.

Rawsome Sculptures

These drawsome sculptures are each created using hundreds of
coloured pencils.Artist Jennifer Maestre uses around 1000
chopped and sharpened pencils to create the quirky pieces.
They can take up to two months to make and fetch anywhere
between £600 and £5,000.

To begin with Jennifer, from Massachusetts, drills a hole through
each one of the pencils and sharpens them.

Each section is then sewn together using a technique called a
peyote stitch, which helps to give the structure its shape.

essica said: "'The sculptures can take anywhere from one day to
two months to create, and for a really big sculpture, I might use
1,000 pencils.

Wandering Feet: Couple Document Travels By Foot Pics (&
Baby Joins The Fun)

This collection of photographs document a British couple's travels
over six years by just showing their feet. London photographer
Tom Robinson was sat on Brighton beach with his new girlfriend
Verity in 2005 when he took a picture of their feet pointing out to
sea.

A group of 'calendar girls' have immortalised one of Britain's
most ancient and important coastlines with paintings done
on an unusual canvas - their own bodies. The 12 women
enlisted the help of body painter Mark Gannon to use their
nude bodies as canvasses for pictures illustrating sights that
can be seen along the Jurassic Coast. Durdle Door, Portland
Bill Lighthouse, Golden Cap and Sandford Castle were just
some of the iconic landscapes that were captured on the
women's faces, backs and bottoms. The idea originated with
61-year-old Cheryl Reynolds and was all done in aid of
charity. The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site that
stretches 95 miles from Orcombe Point in East Devon to Old
Harry Rocks in East Dorset.

It is a towering 380 meters tall and has two high speed lifts to
transport passengers to its 23 floors.
