Importance O f C hild Rights Children are innocent, trusting, & full of hope . Their childhood should be happy & loving. But for many children, the reality of childhood is different 2 million Indian babies will die before the celebrates their first birthday . More girl children will be killed at birth than in any previous year. At least 35 million children aged 6-14 years will not be in school. 17 million children in India worked.
-Right through history , children have been abused & exploited. -They suffer from hunger & homelessness, work in harmful conditions, high infant mortality, deficient health care & limited opportunities for basic education.
Rights of the child Right to develop in an atmosphere of affection , security and the protection against all forms of neglect, cruelty, exploitations and traffic. 20 th Nov 1959 United Nations adopted the following rights of children
Right to enjoy the benefits of social security, including nutrition, housing & medical care
3 ) Right to free educations
4) Right to full o pportunity for play & recreations .
5) Right to name & nationality
6) Right to specific treatment, nutrition & appropriate care if the child is handicapped
7) Right to be among the first to receive protection & relief at the time of disaster save child
8)Right to learn to be useful member of society & to develop in a healthy & normal manner & conditions of freedom and dignity.
9 ) Right to be brought up in spirit of understanding, tolerance, friendship among the people , peace and universal brotherhood.
10) Right to enjoy these right , regardless of face, color, sex , religion , national or social origin.
1)The right to survival (to life , health, nutrition, name and nationality ) :- The right to survival entails the right to a means that children should be rightfully assured of adequate nutrition & quality health care. Their names be registered as citizens to access state nutritional schemes. FOUR BASIC RIGHTS OF CHILDRENS BY INDIAN GOVERNMENT
2) The right to development ( to education, care, leisure, recreation ):- Every child has the right to development that lets the child explore her/ him full potentials. To an education that not only lead the child to a path of learning but promotes understanding , tolerance & friendship among all nations , racial or religious groups ,& should contribute to maintenance of peace.
3) The right to protection (from exploitation , abuse, neglect ) :- Right to protection entails that all children be nurtured & protected from harmful influences , abuse & exploitation in any form. It rages from a child’s right to be protected from , having to work , to face any kind of physical or mental abuse & to have a caring , secure family.
4) The right to participation (to expression , information , thought & religion ) :- This is a right where the child is involved in the decisions take about her / his life & has the space to develop & express independent thought.
